yur horse is very cute. im 25 and i just got my first horse in may 2011 he is a haflinger very gentle but he needs to learn to do what i ask a little more. hes 13 yrs and 13.2 hh and stocky which is what i needed bc im short 5' and i weigh 180 lbs. i plan on loosin 50 lbs so he'll b more comfy w/me on him but for now he does just fine

are you kidding me?! only 5 falls!? i have had my horse for 3 months, and ive fallen off 3 times already! (all of them my fault!...hes a good horse..never bucks,rears, or etc. just my poor balance!) lol but really mcute:) i have a question thoough...isnt it good to have asaddle pad so the saddle isnt directly pushing down as much on the horse?

wooaah he's a very good first horse! to be able to do all that! iv bought a cob and he's me first horse and iv had to school and teach him to jump by my self with no experience at all about training a horse! mine is a 7year ol piebald cob :L i nearly broke my neck at my first competition
@TheSnipaAssasin haha! ok so when you fall, you dont usually have time to think about the "hurt" when you fall. its like falling on ice, or on concrete. but nicer cuz your usually on sand or dirt and not cold ice or spiky hard concrete. lol depends on where you fall too. sometimes if you land on your back or tummy, the air gets knocked out of you, and to be quite honest, that is scary. but most of the time you land on your feet or butt. lol the important thing is to get right back on right away!

I have been riding for 6 years and still dont have a horse. I started at 6 years old and now im 12. Im still believing i will get a horse someday soon. KEEP BELIEVING!!!!
Just because you have your sadcle checked, you should use a pad just so there is no rubbing involved....

It's nearly my first year of owning a pony and I tell you it is not going good. We attended pony club and only have 3 or 4 good rallys! But I love my pony I waited 5 years to get a pony and now I have got one and are going to do what it takes to enjoy her. They are worth it! Your a really good rider.
@Lisabab16 Don't worry about it... =] My first few months were awful, our first rally he reared (but has never done it since!) , I couldn't get him into canter, felt like he was in control all the time, and I'd never jumped more than 18 inches on school horses before I got him! 5 years on, we're jumping 3ft6 easily, hunting and eventing!
@jessicalana91 this video was using images from 5 years ago, and I do have lessons and gone are the days of instructors bellowing "give!"... The First Horse thing in the title kinda gives the clue that I'd be a novice! Be encouraging, some people take comments like that to heart!

my aunt was a horse women, but sadly her and her son drowned, and my uncle is gettng the horse for free, but hes making it a family horse, and that means im going out there to see him and ride him. i cant wait! but im sad that she and the boy died, its horrible, but their deaths have effeted many people in good and bad ways. :D

Well, that's what my mom told me, but just today, her and my dad both said "haha that's not happening" when my mom said it was a possibility...I guess she changed her mind :( The best we can possibly do now she says is lease. Even if it's been ten years,it will happen, some how, some day :)

You are not too big for that horse. He's holding his head nice and low and his back isn't the least bit hollowed out. He has no trouble carrying you.
Do you really ride with no pad? I personally would prefer something to absorb my horse's sweat and all.

It's nearly my first year of owning a pony and I tell you it is not going good. We attended pony club and only have 3 or 4 good rallys! But I love my pony I waited 5 years to get a pony and now I have got one and are going to do what it takes to enjoy her. They are worth it! Your a really good rider.

@Lisabab16 Don't worry about it... =] My first few months were awful, our first rally he reared (but has never done it since!) , I couldn't get him into canter, felt like he was in control all the time, and I'd never jumped more than 18 inches on school horses before I got him! 5 years on, we're jumping 3ft6 easily, hunting and eventing!

@jessicalana91 this video was using images from 5 years ago, and I do have lessons and gone are the days of instructors bellowing "give!"... The First Horse thing in the title kinda gives the clue that I'd be a novice! Be encouraging, some people take comments like that to heart!

hey sazzlepops.... ur horse is beautiful....... she looks like a percheron and kinda warmbloody...am i right? lol... i actually just got back from the barn with my first ride on my first horse! lol! he is a warmblood paint! he is 16 hands.....and he is 6 yrs.....and best yet a.... CHAMPION JUMPER! lol i luv him soooo much...o and his name is rio! i love costa he is very pretty...im sorry that he is lame....but he will be back in the ring in no time! :)

my aunt was a horse women, but sadly her and her son drowned, and my uncle is gettng the horse for free, but hes making it a family horse, and that means im going out there to see him and ride him. i cant wait! but im sad that she and the boy died, its horrible, but their deaths have effeted many people in good and bad ways. :D

Beautiful horse :) I unfortunately can't have my own horse, because of money :( But the chance has come up to possibly look for a very cheap horse this summer, but most likely not...I hope, but chances aren't good :/

Well, that's what my mom told me, but just today, her and my dad both said "haha that's not happening" when my mom said it was a possibility...I guess she changed her mind :( The best we can possibly do now she says is lease. Even if it's been ten years,it will happen, some how, some day :)

beautiful!!! =-) what breed is she? i ride an appaloosa mare for lessons her name is Easy... I ride western so she's an amazing jumper but I only jump her for fun and I'm working on the barrels and poles with her!
I think I might get her and Board her at my Teachers barn in a few months. My dad needs to get a good job first though! =-(

@azorro35 Well I already tried that with my dad and I came very close.With my mom not even close! My parents always tell me someday i'll get a horse but just not now. So now I'm still riding them but I don't own one. :(
