  • u guys ever go to the mounds orv park ?????i live right around the road its in mt morris out side of flint ,SOME KILLER TRAILS !!!!!!!!

  • how do i find this place. i live like 45 min from greenville and would love to go and try it out

  • @Mr1998jeepcherokee Sorry, but it's private property so I can't tell you how to find it. We only get to go when we're invited by the owner. He's put in some really good trails, though. It's a fun place.

  • symphony of destruction- megadeath

  • were is this heven ????

  • I think those Hummers need to go through the mud pits too and get a little dirtier than they are. That would be a good test...do the same things the Jeeps did, and see if the Hummer has the same troubles in the same spots as the Jeeps. Plus, personally, I think that if you go offroading, you need to have a little mud on your ride at the end of the day.

  • I am from a far away planet so I don't understand the earthlings idea of fun. Driving out to no where in your expensive toys and getting stuck in the mud is fun to earthlings. Explain this strange practice to me. thanks.

    Friend to earthlings.

  • Jeep has the superiority of ultimate climbing, particularly on the low end torque and size, ability to fit into tight spots and get out easier because of their size.

  • @OneFabFisher I can't say I agree. I have an easier time with most climbs than the Jeeps I run with (superior traction control means lower-speed, more-controlled climbs), I've got more torque and taller standard diff gearing. Hummer has a tighter turning radius and the lower roof height makes off-camber drives through tight spaces easier. On top of all of that, I enjoy more comfort and dependability. I never suffer from "Jeep Envy". However, I doubt Hummer will ever achieve Jeep's "cool" factor

  • @firechasers - well, there is only one way for me to know for sure - I will just have to go rock climbing with a hummer. I learned how to drive in a Jeep and had my share of canyons and rock climbing in my CJ -- let's see how the hummer does.

  • @firechasers not for nothing but jeeps have a near zero turning radius.

  • @trink968 Huh? I guess you never drove a Jeep. If you did, you weren't in the company of an H3.

  • @firechasers your Hummer is nothing more than a glorified tahoe.

  • @dillbertlee Wow, I would think that someone with so little automotive knowledge would be reluctant to display his ignorance on a public forum. The Tahoe and H3 are nothing alike. Someone of your intellect probably assumes that the Tahoe was the basis for the H3 (it isn't). I've yet to find a Tahoe or stock Jeep that can cover the obstacles that my stock Hummer handles with ease.

  • @firechasers Where in my comment did i mention an H3? I didn't and your right, a tahoe is nothing like an H3. The H3 is built on the colorado chassis. The H2 is built on the tahoe chassis. GM has been doing this for years, they take a truck chassis and pack an suv body onto it. Also if you think that your p.o.s. hummer will out perform a jeep offroad, you should be locked away in some kind of mental institute.

  • @dillbertlee First off, since my Hummer is an H3 and you referenced "your Hummer", anyone with two brain cells to rub together would conclude you were referring to the H3. I have embarrassed many Jeeps (including lifted, modified Jeeps) by easily driving over and through obstacles they couldn't handle. I guess you should off road more often. You might even do well to actually learn something about Hummer's capabilities before posting disparaging remarks.

  • @firechasers I'm sure you've embarrassed many modified Jeeps in some aspects of off roading. But I'm sure modified Jeeps have embarrassed your Hummer in others.

By the way, place looks badass to hit the trails.

  • mmmm watching a jeep flex is almost as good as sex! o it is as good,i need a cold shower

  • Where r u guys at in g-ville I am in Belding I have a 04 wrangler I would love to bring to these trails!!

  • @FordZach100 This is some private land that belongs to a guy who is friends with several members of our club. From time to time, he invites us up to wheel with him. He has created a really fun place to play. Because it's private, I don't have the authority to invite you or even tell you exactly where it is. Sorry.

  • @FordZach100 This is actually my uncles land. he doesnt care who comes out there. but he lives in greenville, im not sure what road but it's by a bunch of orchards

  • @sickness560 This land is near a bunch of orchards. Your uncle has always been very generous in letting us play there. I was out last Sunday on what was going to be a work/play day -- cutting a few trees, clearing new trails, etc. The work part got postponed, so we just played instead. He continues to make improvements to the trails. If you haven't been out in a while, you should check it out again.

  • @sickness560 South of Geenville or north where are you from

  • Great video! And yes Jeeps and Hummers can coexist ^_^ My brother and cousins have jeeps, my uncle has a Frontier and I have an H3; at one point or another we have all needed a little help getting out of a sticky situation. But at least we always have fun!

  • Awesome video. I never understood they pissing contest between Jeeps and Hummers either. Both awesome 4 wheelers. I think the H2 and the bling crowd gave Hummer a bad name. When the Hummer H4 comes out I see that changing.

  • I went from a 96 ex police cruser (junk) to an 06 H3 Adventure package, I also agree, Jeepers and HUMMER lovers can enjoy their vehicles with friendly competetion not aggresive. I love the 4X4 world now that I've become a part of it.

  • well maybe we can wheel together sometime

  • ya where is this i want to wheel here looks nice i has a wrangler on 33's

  • You would probably have no problem with a Wrangler on 33s for most of this property. The problem, however, is that it's private property (not mine) and we can only go there when invited.

  • COOL VID

  • have you guys heard of mattracks look them up there like indevidual tank tracks for your vehical they look like something you wold want to check out, instilation is like putting on a tire.

  • I've heard of Mattracks and watched some videos. They look pretty cool. I don't want to get into a situation where I have to trailer my truck, so I don't expect to get them any time soon.

  • I think you can use them on the road can't you?

  • From what I understand you can use them on the road, but I shudder when I think about the reduction in fuel economy, the cost of replacing the tracks and the noise they would generate.

The noise would be a big issue. I could get better traction with more aggressive rubber, but I don't want the noise. I've heard the Goodrich M/T KM2 is pretty quiet, but I think even that would be too much.

  • Nice Vid, if you ever want to wheel with some South Eastern MI guys get on CHO (club hummer offroad) and look up MUTAINT (that's me). We will be making a few trips this year: Drummond Island, Rocks and Valleys, Silver Lake and there is always the Mounds in Mt. Morris, MI.

By the way, don't disconnect the sway bar on an IFS. Unless you are looking for something to break!

  • Thanks for the good advice. There was no danger of me disconnecting the sway bar, but CHO could be interesting. I will definitely check it out. It's always good to find other people to go 4-wheeling with.

By the way, where is Rocks and Valleys? I've never heard of it.

  • Harrison, MI

Great park with friendly people running the place. Next time we make a run I'll email you.

  • The Two Trackers off-road club is putting together a run to Rocks and Valleys. Everything I've heard about it is great. I can hardly wait to get there.

  • Hey man...I prefer Jeeps over Hummers in general, but in times of hybrids and smart cars, we REAL four wheel drive vehicles need to band together! Cool video and keep wheeling the H3.

  • I don't get into the "Jeeps vs Hummers" thing, either. Both are very good in their own niche, but they are VERY different vehicles. I will say, however, that you Jeep guys REALLY love playing with your "toys" and that makes things fun for everybody.

  • It's an addiction...I've never heard of anyone who has stopped modifying their Jeep, including myself. They are like Legos, with an infinite number of combinations and things to build.

  • and about that comment about the mud smelling like crap adn not letting it bake under your h3..quit beeing a weenie. you go offroading to get dirty not stay clean. you can tell a jeep person from a h3 driver any day. just keep the h3's for grocer getters thats what they are best at. sorry to down h3's but seriously, look up jeeps rock crawling or something and honestly ask yourself if your h3 could do any of that stuff.

  • Actually, I DON'T off-road so I can get dirty. I off-road to enjoy nature, have fun and drive on terrain that most people won't see with their expensive SUVs. I coincidently get dirty, but my approach is considerably more mature than yours.

You can smell up your Jeep all you want, but not wanting to smell manure hardly makes a person a "weenie".

As for being best as a "grocery getter", by BMW X3 is a much more exciting "grocery getter" than my Hummer. You should expand your horizons.

  • lol, i ran out of characters up there, but some jeep guys just dont have the ability to take off the blinders. I am a jeep guy, will be forever pry. If i want a comfy suv that can wheel ill get a cherokee classic. lol I dont wanna smell like shit eaither. I enjoyed your vid man.

  • Love your attitude! Jeeps are great, and the Jeep drivers I've driven with are NUTS (in a good way)! Jeepers love to play with their cars (?). Hummer has a place off road as well. Sure, there are things that a Jeep does better, just like there are things a Hummer does better. It's all a matter of personal taste.

I still love the Cherokee classic, too. I had a 1986 (way back) that I really enjoyed.

Jeeps and Hummers can peacefully coexist.

  • Yeah, if there were more of us who dont need to have a pissing contest. .

  • Hey, congrats on your new Jeep. It's tasteful, but still looks tough -- good job!

  • Jeeps and humvees

  • @firechasers well jeep makes hummer

  • i dont know how hard it is to disconnect your sway bar or if you can in a h3 but next time you go wheeling disconnect them and you'll get the most flex out of your suspension and have a better chance at crawling over bigger obstacles and keep your tires on the ground. and if u got lockers you could climb vertical walls like it was nothing. its funny how the h3 people think they know how/can wheel. yall half ass it im telling you.

  • If I were interested in modifying my suspension I would have bought a Jeep and made a toy out of it. I wanted a daily driver that I could take out off-roading from time to time. Maybe this is a concept that your juvenile intellect has difficulty comprehending.

You Jeepers love spending your time exposing your ignorance while you criticize Hummers, but hate to acknowledge that only a modified Jeep can outpace a Hummer.

  • Now dont generalize us jeepers. I Love me some H1 the mil spec ones at least. Never been in any other hummer. I will say that I have taken some hmmwv into and OUT OF some pretty shakey spots. Now, those of corse were NOT packin the extra load of being UP ARMORED. . It was just on the driving course. To be fair, a H1 stock is basically a modified vehicle anyhow. I like the style of the H3, and I have read some really good reviews. As for wheeling in comfort, I totally agree with you.

  • i never saw the h3 go in anythign like you see the jeep go through at 8:16. it didnt look like the h3's got off of a class 1 trail either. wow. you h3 guys need to go to hot springs arkansas with us one day and we'll show u why jeep is better. shorter wheel bas and better turning ability..def. a plus. the only thing the h3 has on any two door jeep is luxury. thats it. im tellin ya, i would like to see yall go rock crawling with me, i'd leave yall at the bottom of the mountain.

  • Nope, didn't need a trailer. I personally can't stand the idea of having to haul my vehicle around on a trailer. I would much rather drive to the trail comfortably, do some off-road driving in comfort and style, then drive home without the nuisance involved in trailering a vehicle. What a waste.

By the way, you probably would leave me at the bottom of the mountain in rock crawling, but that makes absolutely no difference to me. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not offended.

  • 'you can winch a Jeep with ease'

thats just a way of saying they will always get stuck XD

  • COOL

  • Where was this in Greenville? I lived up there for a long time and didn't know there was anything that cool out there.

  • This was on some private property east of Lincoln Lake Rd. between 10 and 11 mile Roads. My Hummer salesman is friends with the owner and he was kind enough to allow us to go out there and play.

  • the h3 can handel all of what i saw in the vid and more i know ive done it with my h3 , looks like yous had fun

  • WOW, Old School! I didn't see your New School Hummer in either of those mud pits though. Looks like fun.

  • Yeah, the mud smelled like manure and I wasn't at all anxious to drive home with that baking on the underside of my car. We did have a GREAT time, though.
