@tommartyn Yea, this truck sounded just like yours when I got it from my grandmother. The exhaust manifold was cracked in half. Got a super six exhaust manifold and ditched the cat and factory exhaust. Now has a turbo muffler and a turn down. As you can hear in the video, it is indeed smooth. Runs 2100 rpm at 60 with 31" tires according to my $30 sunpro tach and a local radar speed limit sign. Power falls off completely at 4,000 rpm with the factory cam.
Cool truck! My friend just picked up an 85 W100 Shortbed with the 225/NP435 and 3.54 gears. Cool truck for sure. I like yours alot too man! With 31" Tires it seems to be quite a screamer at highway speeds. Haha.
I wouldn't mind having one now. Good gas mileage for a fullsize truck it seems.
