Love this!! I remember it well... If she had not branched out into acting, and other business ventures.. we'd be wondering where she is now..! Will Smith,Ice Cube, Ice-T and LLCoolJ did the same! How long could that have lasted as they each started getting older..
i love queen latifah and if i see her i real life one day and she dose a show and if she reach for my hand iti would really to let go i love her xooxoxooxoxooxooxoxoooxooxooxooxoxooxooxoxooxoxooxoxooxooxoxooxxox
she is not a sell out HINT THE NAME QUEEN A QUEEN TAKES OVER EVERYTHING she models, acts, raps, spokesperson, sex symbol shit SOUNDS LIKE A QUEEN TO ME !!
I miss Queen Latifah the rapper, i'm sure she still has the chops still given the way things are now but maybe she can sing it...though i wouldn't hear it.
i guess it's a good thing she isn't because people are too preoccupied with body types especially now since rap is mainstream and so is she.
I think she was smart enough to branch out. If she was still doing Hip hop she would have been under-appreciated like most true hip hop artist. She didn't sellout she showed more facets of her talent.
@Eclectic1970 I agree with you about that! Part of what made her popular with most is that she stayed true to who she is. Also, everybody matures and grows up. It's impossible to live for 20 more years from this and stay the same without looking and/or acting ridiculous...
You know, it's amazing, I remember the complaint was that the music industry didn't take hip hop seriously, but when they start taking it seriously, we bitch about it? I remember going to hip hop shows at community centers n shit. That's how small it was. Plus know your hip hop history. At this time hip hop and house acts often shared the same billing. MC Lyte, Steady B, EPMD, and others ALL put house tracks on their albums around this time. QL was actually LATE doing it.
no other women can hang.she made me want to be a rapper and hold a mic like a tool of power not just a tool to get MONEY..take heed to all this is real mic control.
whats amazing is the queen is now queen of a whole new media since our day. a cover girl . a movie star. a wonderful and smart talented woman from hip hops walk of life runnnin shit. that means everything to our people. everything. big ups QUEEN LA
