  • Dear mgaft1,

Could you do a video about self massage? Because being able to massage others doens't help me out. I know something about massaging the back of your head but that's it.

  • It's just a one part of arm massage. There should be more elements (shaking and vibrations)!

  • @TheObstrukcjaSzatana You brought some point to discuss. Thanks for post. Usually when we performing full body medical massage , we are spending approximately 5 to 7 minutes for arm. In your opinion , how much time should be spent on shaking and vibrations techniques as well for sake of discussion why to include shaking and vibrations techniques in procedure as well as please advise what is a different in a physiological affect of shaking vs. vibrations techniques? .

    Best wishes.Boris

  • wtf i was expecting more biology to be involved;;;

  • Hello, it's cool that you're "with the times" and post on youtube :D. I am interested in the "techniques" you call "ethlorage" and "petrolage" (or something). Would you mind writing a few sentences about them? :) Thanks a lot!

    Best regards, Erlend

  • @erlendnr effleurage and petrissage, good Sir ;D

  • Dear mgaft1,

Is it possible to reduce pain from lactic acid accumulation as well as microtearing due to exercise by applying certian massage techniques? (By the way, your videos are phenomenal and your knowledge and skill is admirable!)

    Dan

  • @Jiaxis I am really sorry for delay with my answer.somehow missed your comment. Apologizing for it.

  • I'm into heavy weight lifting, i was told that a message visit about 2 times a month will help clean away damaged tissue and help with my Weright training is this true?

  • yes some light tissue work will eliminate most of the bad toxic buildup from everyday use and diet

I would recommend a full body massage every 3 weeks its very beneficial if done correctly.

  • A mAssage if done properly helps to remove cellular waste, it assists your normal mechanisms which are aided by movement. Massage adds external pushing to your natural internal pressures to increase that, I think.

  • That wouldn't surprise me at all.

  • So what are you exactly trying to say that I have some sort of problem? I don't understand

  • Dear jhgjhggj.

Delay onset muscles soreness is a after physical overload phenomena that usually go away in a few days. but if you constantly will physically overload your body to the point of delay onset muscle soreness my recommendation to avoid it.

    Best wishes.

  • I hated being in that gym class because we did so many hard exercises and our gym teacher was so strict on us. I think I lifted weights for on 20 min not 30 . And I think the weights were 20 pounds. But anyway thanks for your advice I appreciate it.

  • Dear jhgjhggj,

Its my pleasure to be helpful by sharing my knowledge. Some PE teachers as well as coaches mistakenly force students to exercise with extreme intensity. In professional and/or Olympian sports, constantly, athletes are pushed to the limits. This regime has nothing to do with health benefits. At list Eastern European Olympians receive mandatory rehabilitative massage that shields them from side effect of vigorous exercise. Stay healthy.

    Best wishes

  • One time in when I was in juniour high in gym class we lifted weights for about 30 min and the next day my arms were so painful i couldn't stretch them out. I would've loved to have this arm massage done on me.

  • Dear jhgjhggj,

You described delayed onset muscle soreness phenomenon which is a serious condition. Becuase actually muscles and tendons traumatized twice by strain and neutrofields debree cleaning process, Please visit my website to read my article on a subject and view my clip on shin splint. Even if you sutain pain in your arm shin spolint clips contains general information on why delayed onset muscles syndrome must be addressed. To be continued...

  • This happened to me in 2002. If I stretched my arms out it would be painful. But in a couple days it got better. So are you saying I have onset muscles syndrome or something?

  • Dear jhgjhggj.

"we lifted weights for about 30 min and the next day my arms were so painful i couldn't stretch them out." next day arms pain probably was what we call delay onset muscles soreness. you should visit my website and to read article on this subject. I didn't try to say that you have a problem. my reply to you was to awake awareness regarding necessity to avoid as much as possible to work out to the point of delay muscle soreness. this is all.

    Best wishes.

  • Boris,

I"ve watched your videos for a while now and I like the way you explain the different massages. I want to get a massage but my tolerance to pain is not too great. I was thinking of a mix of light swedish and theraputic. What would you recommend as a choice of massage for a first timer?

  • Dear rsman84,

Lower threshold of pain as you've described can be increased by receiving at least 15 to 20 treatments. The increase of the threshold of pain will mean that higher tension in muscles and fascia was reduced and blood supply to the tissue was restored. All mentioned above tension within soft tissues and decrease of arterial blood supply produces pain and or low threshold. You should take care of this conditions in order to prevent further developments. To be continued...

  • If you have no time and financial capabilities to receive 15 to 20 treatments in medical facility, I highly recommend to purchase all 7 of my DVDs on self prevention and management of sports related injuries. Please keep in mind that the main cause of sports related injuries is strain. You can strain your muscle in different ways; due to repeated motion, physical and emotional trauma, exposure to stress, etc. to be comtinued...

  • All these strain related pains could be managed by self-massage and special exercise program that I propose on my DVDs. You're welcome to visit my website where you will find articles on the subject including management of fibromyalgia symptoms as well as to view video clips on the subject.

    Best Wishes

    Boris.

P.S. In my view Swedish massage therapy or therapeutic massage must deliver the same results such as in your case elimination of tension and restoration of blood supply.

  • At first I thought the guy was topless, but the 'bellybutton' was a button, and the 'skin' was a shirt. :D

  • Me too! I was Like "pervert"

  • now you wont believe this. Doctor said its a ganglian cyst that i have on my wrist. So he gave me an injetion on my wrist bone but the cyst didnt go (i can almost see the cyst), But now he is saying it might need a surger yif it gets bigger?? What do you think about the surgery?? And are there any exercises for ganglian cysts??

  • Dear kidmystic123 . you should not be worry because of :"i can almost see the cyst),". it sometime can increase size and after some time decrease size. gentle lymph drainage techniques can help. be careful not to traumatize this area as well not to perform vigorous physical work with this wrist. you have to be relaxed but observe and stay in touch with your doctor. Best wishes.

    Boris

  • thanks for the reply. MRI scans are very costly here. I'll look forward about your dvd. But if i have severyly injured it, can self treatment do much good? I recently heard from one of my friend that bones could heal wrongly? Can you please also explai nwhat that means?

  • Dear kidmystic123 . according to your e-mail to me radiological means examination excluded bone fracture. you should worry and consultant your doctor about soft tissue injuries, scar tissue formation ets. in this cases material presented on my DVD #3 can be very useful and helpful.

    Best regards.

    Boris

  • btw, bones healing incorrectly means that when you broke your wrist, you cracked the physical bone of the wrist, and now either the crack has healed crooked, or the bones no longer align with other bones (the wrist is made of many small bones, not one large one). another possiblity is that the bone was jarred from its position and is connected to the tissue wrong. Yet another way is that the bone could have splintered, and thus when it heals, it heals into a bad shape. other posibilies exist

  • Should i see a physio? I am 18 years old btw. So can you tell me in short please, as you are an expert, what my wrist poblem could be? Anykind of wrist dislocation, or ligament injury should be cured by 6 months right?

PS: I heard about this thing called, wrist healing wrongly?? In that case, will i have to rebreak it? And is that done by a surgery or by massaging or something after seeing a physio??

    Please reply.

    Thank you

  • Dear kidmystic123, Sorry to hear about your trauma. X-ray detects bone fracture and less reflecting damages of soft tissue. Maybe request your doctor for MRI. In case if during these five months of trauma you vigorously physically loaded your wrist then most likely you've severely re-injured it. Please view my clips on sports injuries where I am explaining danger of re-injuries. Also I would recommend purchasing my self treatment DVD #3. Show my clips to your doctor..

    Best Wishes

    Boris

  • any broken bone can heal incorrectly if you dont take it to be set and have the splinters removed. I speak from my own experience of two broken elbows... both were smashed months ago in a bike accident, but i never visited a hospital. now the bones are relatively healed but there are small pieces floating in the area and they are sensitive to the touch. If your bones did fuze incorrectly, i believe surgeons do rebreak them and set them correctly, adding pins, plates, and all manner of metals

  • wow this is soo good thanx alot

  • i have a bad back now from watching this on my laptop laying down on my uncomfortable bed trying to feel relaxed. my neck is in pain now...

  • Dearjunkz24.

by being in a position as you described muscles strained.strain means overload. there is many ways to strain muscles and tendons.for detailed explanation on subject please view my sports injuries youtube clips. soon will be available my self treatment DVDs program. on thisDVDs by demonstration and explanation I teach you to help yourself in cases of sprains/strain of neck and upper back , shoulder, elbows, wrist, lower back, knee and more.hope you'll get well soon.

  • Sir,

Your massage technique is fascinating to watch, and your petrissage technique is masterful. It is clear you are a man of substantial physical strength. Do you believe that this is helpful in developing good massage technique?

Thank you for your videos, I enjoy them greatly.

  • Dear JohnnyFeng.

it is a great deal of pleasure to receive comments like yours.Thank you be very much. I don't think that physical strength of therapist play some role in perfecting techniques. correct biomechanics allows to use body weight for pressure therefore person who is weight 120 pounds can provide enough needed physical force for good massage procedure. I believe that development of sense of touch true understanding make different.

    Best wishes

    Boris

  • the power of the strokes comes from the feet. basically, if you are standing firmly, you can push from the feet... kind of like moving a heavy, large box. of course you dont push thathard, but the biomechanics are the same. push from your feet, rock forward and use that motion to apply the pressure.

  • not the nails sir..my lateral extensor tendons are downright sore as well as my flexor tendons both located at the medial and lateral epicondyle and also sir, the brachioradialis..this is a beautiful massage..
