I just think it's dumb when boxing-fans say "If an MMA guy was to trade punches with a boxer, they wouldn't last." Well, you don't see the MMA guys say "If the boxer is to use wrestling, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, they wouldn't last." (or you can be simply poo at boxing and go slugfesting all day long) and as for the gloves... the gloves are no different from mma gloves... they just have more padding on the back of the hand for blocking... thats it... they arent pillows that cushion everything... you'll get your brain shook to pieces if you take a flush shot... and in fights they can be fairly small...

With MMA gloves, you hit harder, swing faster, and cause more damage. Boxing doesn't require brains, no discipline require brains, they all require DISCIPLINE. Punching, swaying, blocking, and clinching are all apart of discipline. You can't do those things if you're not a disciplined fighter.

The other night, Pacquiao came in on fight night 5 lbs over his weight class. MMA fighters gain around 20 lbs after weigh-ins. Let's not talk about HWs. You can't find a boxer as big as Alistair Overeem, Brock Lesnar, or Bob Sapp.

I just think it's dumb when boxing-fans say "If an MMA guy was to trade punches with a boxer, they wouldn't last." Well, you don't see the MMA guys say "If the boxer is to use wrestling, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, they wouldn't last." Can someone please tell me how both are those are different in regards to trying to get the point across?
Don't get me wrong, I have respect for boxing, but MMA is just more appealing to me since it utilizes way more interesting arts that are worth learning.

With MMA gloves, you hit harder, swing faster, and cause more damage. Boxing doesn't require brains, no discipline require brains, they all require DISCIPLINE. Punching, swaying, blocking, and clinching are all apart of discipline. You can't do those things if you're not a disciplined fighter.

In mma, you swing, kick, grapple (which is extremely tiring, much more tiring than swinging) and you have to some times get a larger, stronger fighter off of you. MMA training is more intense than boxing's. "MMA training makes boxing training look simple."- Ray Mercer. EVERYTHING a mma fighter does WILL work in any fight.

The other night, Pacquiao came in on fight night 5 lbs over his weight class. MMA fighters gain around 20 lbs after weigh-ins. Let's not talk about HWs. You can't find a boxer as big as Alistair Overeem, Brock Lesnar, or Bob Sapp.

Anderson Silva SCHOOLED one Freddie Roach's boys. Nick Diaz was scheduled to fight Jeff Lacy, and Kj Noons had a decent boxing career as well. Just look at their mechanics, you can tell.
