Allow me to analyze this scientifically. Judging by the segments, Sonic ran approximately 202 meters from the start of the track. Once the platform is included, let's call it approximately 215 meters. That's 21.5 m/s, 70.5 ft/s, or 48.1 mph. To compare, the speed of sound in air at 0°C (32°F) is 343.2 m/s, 1125 ft/s, or 768 mph. That seems like a rather slow walk for Sonic, but either way, that's quite fast. If they had kept him at true sonic speed, Sonic may have been a quite literal blue blur.

it's not faster!! 'cause Sonic runs first, both of they should have "run" at the same time so we can see who's faster!... the only thing we can get from this is the sonc's speed rate xD (Y). Look, if you notice each 50m is divided in 20 segments (each one is 2.5m); we see Sonic at the first segment after "200m", that would be like 202.5m... a little less... XD but it's ok, and if Sonic run for 10 seconds, then 202.5m/10s= 20.5m/s... Sonic is really FAST! (Y) :D

he is actually faster then you say. you didnt count the distance sonic ran at the very start to get to the track. plus his falling speed is pretty slow, so that also makes his final distance smaller then what it actually should be given that were comparing it to sonic running in a streight line without droping to the meeter track.

i dont mean to criticize but the main problem with that is that it is programmed so that when the counter hits zero the controls lock up making the player unable to do any more. so the video itself is the way it is because of the restraint.

Dunno. But what I do know is that you can get just over 24,000 m with Ike and Ice Climbers. you get Ice climbers to use standard B (Ranged ice attack), and get Ike to jump above the sandbag and aerial down + A the sandbag when the ice hits the sandbag, then get Ike with the bat, then smash it with the bat. Takes like 3 minutes for sandbag to land.

when the time is nearly up, get both ganondorfs to do a falcon punch at the EXACT same time, scores about 36,000 m

I think he has an advantage of ca. 8m (1. 202,5m-199m= 3,5m and 2. at the beginning ca. 4,5m (gannon pushed the sandbag a litte).

if we assume the distance between the centre of the platform and the 0m shield is around 15m we get:

Sonic ca. 222m/10s = 22,2 m/s

Sangbag 214m/ 8s =26,75m/s

so the needing extra meters for sonic would be ca. 45 meters. Don't think it's possible.
