had the good fortune of seeing him in 72 at the mariposa festival in toronto (held on the islands), got my first sniff of weed and a my first taste of real music. i was 13. saw him years later at harbourfront (also in toronto). great music is timeless, as are the musicians who create it. they have no shelf life, because terms like that don't apply.
I was there too. Half way through his performance it started to rain but that was O.K. for the audience. We all danced and grooved to Taj. That was the first time I heard him and I've enjoyed all the records that he's put out.
Take it easy man. I'm not a bush fan by no means. But you respect the music and the daughter. The fact that she can respect that says' something after the shit she's been through. Phenomenal artist and musician man. Anyone who can respect this has woken up to something. Campaign for liberty man, Join. Ron Paul hasn't let us down, he's still got us going.
I use to use one of Taj Mahal's songs as a signature at a forum (Corinna) he gives such expression to each song so incredible a talent. Wishing you much contentmentand joy, Taj. ^.~
I love how the guy says "Thank God" when he starts singing. It sounds like the guy really wanted to hear the song. Also you can hear the people singing along. Super cool :)
Bought the CD back in 95'really loved it especially this song till (I forgot it at work) and someone ripped it off. This is the first time I heard it in eight years.
You're welcome. No I only have two videos from that night [the other one is posted, but its really short.] I will take more videos next time he's back at the Blue Note! Definitely catch a show if you have the opportunity, that was my first time and it was amazing.
Great movie with Taj called "Sounder" from way back in the 70's....Check it out. Cecily Tyson stars in it, but Taj's a skinny guy and plays with Mississippi John Hurt-great flick. Always was a talent with a formal music education that many don't know
My band was lucky enough to share a week long gig on The Ultimate Blues Cruise with this ledgendary artist. I will never forget it. A wonderful man. An American treasure. It does'nt get much better than him. Beautiful
krumping song... i love it

Hey, EmilyWCA, Happy birthday for the other day!
Wow - there are only a few comments on this page - but a lot of people have seen it. There must be a few people who know of him and his sweet sound.
And I'm glad to have discovered this clip at last!
