  • Man I love the old MP stuff they did. He and Terry could have been considered a top tandem in the world of music. *sigh*

  • GG74K, Tell me does your Ramana Maharshi teach you to bad mouth fellow human beings in that way?

  • Comment removed

  • @GG74K Sir please study more carefully what Sri Ramana teaches.

''Who am I" Implies the negation of all that which is not in the dimension of the Divine. Criticizing superficially in order to feel sophisticated or superior is not helpful, but ask yourself "am I that fragmentation of the mind?"

    Perhaps then, understanding will flower.

  • @jcsorez "The essential Understanding is that in reality nothing is. This is so obvious that it is not perceived" - Wei Wu Wei

  • @jcsorez So, you never got back with me, i have a few quote's from Thomas Merton, St John of the Cross and Julian of Norwich i would like you to interpret for all us budding mystics who have moved on.....I Dont want to go to fast for you...This is Thomas Merton...."To seek the unlimited in a definite place is to limit it, and hence not to find it, contemplation is the "true self" emerging in awareness. so please, "all knowing one"...tell me "false self"...who are you?

  • @GG74K Hello there,

intellectual interpretion or is the enemy of true religious/mystical consciousness; quotes are only attempts to redirect your attention to the Grace of the Great Mistery...Negation of that wich is not Love is the way of the cross; the cross is cancellation of the false "I" (human/carnal mind) and the emergence of Divinity.

    ''Who am I?"

"I am neither ego nor reason....

''Consciousness and Joy am I, and Bliss is where I'm found''. (Song of the Soul)

  • @jcsorez So your in duality, there is that which "is" unconditional love, and something else that "is not", how can the false "I" be separate from what is?...once again Thomas Merton, to seek the unlimited in in a definite place is to limit it, and hence not to find it. You seek in the "negation" of something, something you perceive as not right, not part of the perfect unfolding of oneness, the carnal mind is a problem for you because you think it is you.

  • @GG74K thank you for your perspective, but there's little understanding in your responses; you critize others and then seek ''to win arguments'' rather than share in dialogue; that is carnal mind. Repeating second hand, borrowed stuff leads to mental constipation and vanity. It is best to leave this space for what it was intended; an interview of a talented devotional singer-songwriter. Further engagement will not happen. Peace.

  • she was a friendly kind girl...

let me mr john make interview with you and let us speak about mason proffit amazing songs,i know which kind of questions you want...tell me about til the suns gone?

  • John and Terry put our a great album in the early seventies, it has many Christian themes. One song that really stands out is "trail of tears"

  • It does John, it has opened me up. I have worshiped with you to the Lord, many times in my kitchen, when the children were young.

  • JMT is the best!

  • Hey I was a country hippie Mason Proffit fan in the early 70s, and I saw them a bunch of times and my life pretty much parralled theirs (John & brother Terry) as I came to Jesus and still reamined a Talbot fan into CCM and eyond, as am I am still playing but more worship and less R&R.

    Thanks for the great interview!

  • Love JMT - thank you for posting.

  • This is great!
