Go and check who makes the engines for most of your launch vehicles today.. No points for guessing it is the Russians.
@babybearkill the only "Rover" the USSR launched before the US Moon Landing of Apollo 11 was "Luna E-8 No.201" in Feb 1969 and it failed to reach Earth orbit, the 1st stage booster failed 15km downrangeand the probe was detroyed. the USSR had fly-by's and landers (Zond series) but no rover.
BTW: ever hear of "SpaceX" ? the Falcon-heavy Merlin 1D booster engines are made here in CA. and launched from Vandenburg AFB.
