  • Im shooting up to 500m wit my tikka 308 & that is my hunting rifle too. the 223 will be 70% at the range 30% for hunting roo's fox's, I spend about a $1 a shot with my 308 so 223 should b nearly half that. but i think I might end up with a savage 10 fcp 223, I really like em and hearing good things about them.

did u checkout any of my vids mate, wat u think?

  • nice remington mate are u still happy with it, would u recommend one in 223.

checkout my 308 tikka if u have time. top vid mate

  • @nottelingu What is the range that you are shooting at? Will you hunt big game? Are you going to make it, and treat it as a target rifle? How much do you plan on spending on ammo?

  • You should put the camera on the spotting scope

  • your gun and everything your doing is very good . dont listen to the rest of these guys all you need to do is get rid of your rings . you have rings for guys who want to use iron sights or a scope . you dont have iron sights so get a good quality set of rings and you will tighten up your groups in half at least

  • @jfk19780 if you take a look at the date this video is almost 4 years old, i have much improved since then. thanks!

  • You should have got the left hand model.

  • Beautiful, and good form.

  • What kind of optics are you running on that thing? Nice-looking rig mate.

  • what distance??

  • excellent shooting. The zeroing process is a necessary pain in the ass for any shooter. Check your hit points to your aiming points and adjust elevation accordingly.from the unknown marksman.

  • how much does the remington 700 sps tactical .308 cost

  • @hark6776 around 500 i think

  • @hark6776 wait 700

  • Question: Wht do u guys think about the .308 compared to .270 mag.. Lol I have a .270 mag and it kicks my ass every time.. Cause it doesn't look like the 308 has a whole lot of kick when I seem them

  • OK just let me say, I CAN SHOOT the balls of a mouse and not kill it, at a 1000 yards, lets see ye GUN PROS do that...

  • @everettwilliams31 uuhmmm...faggot?

  • you have a really nice setup there

  • Less than 10 rounds through my .308 and it was dead on centre every time.

I love the Hogue stock, nice feel

  • @TR5T is that right, im going to buy this rifle n heard that the stock is the only downfall of the rifle that it touches the barrel and that it is flexible plastic that easily stresses and makes contact with the barrell, ut if u say its good i believ u, also could u let me know if the bolt is very smooth or stiff, cheers

  • @88weedsmoker The action is quite smooth but very precise, no slop in mine at all. To me the stock isn't an issue but I did see a video on the modification.

In all this is a very simple high quality weapon. I am pleased to own one.

  • Does that model include the hinge drop magazine? and if so can you get that exact model with "blind" internal mags? please and thankyou

  • Not bad for just starting out with high power! Here is a little tip.

Use a sock filled with rice or sand (sand better for all season outdoor use) to stabilize the rear end of your gun. Hold it with your off hand. You can squeeze it to raise the stock and loosen your grip to lower it. Not having to rely on your shoulder or arm (both of which are unsteady) to hold up the gun will help you to be more accurate.

  • very good shooting. If your target eas human they would definitely be dead.

  • might be more comfortable with some lower rings

  • its fake guys i don't see bullet coming out while he fires

  • @mohamedhazemohamed stupid sand nigger

  • @combatcurtful loool

  • @mohamedhazemohamed your a dumbass

  • @benny332 i luv you too

  • I built a .300 mag that is one hellova accurate rifle, 500 yards? HU! Thats nothing.

Its easy to build a rifle that will rival the Remington SPS.

The Barrel makers can make you a tube for just over $300.00 and turn that .300wsm into a smoking accurate rifle. .1/2 moa@300yards. or better.

  • AW SHUCKS, I got a Daisy BB that can do that.

  • I read the description dude Im with you I just enjoy a day out at the range, if I do well great if not I still have fun. If you dont reload you should get into it, even as an amateur myself it tightened my groups up. Plus its a fun pastime searching for the perfect recipe :D nice gear mate hope it gives you years of fun

  • ahhhh! plz get lower scope rings

  • how much does that cost?

  • @lildewie2 $734 stock with out a scope

  • @thebeast73jsmith - Cabelas has this for $600 and some change. I almost picked it up today but I'm mentally battling this purchase at the moment since I already have a Remington 700 7mm magnum but who knows tomorrow is a new day and I may get it still.

  • Best put discription ever, thats the way i think. Its not what others can do its what i can!!!

  • @IKEFOOTBALL77 lol forgot all about my description. i still feel the same way yet i can put better groups down now with lots of experience!

  • best out of box rifle ever! my favorite

  • how do you look through the scope with both eyes open?

  • How's the precision at 100 yards? Thinking about buying one of these : ) Is it possible to shoot 1/2 inch groups at 150 yards as well? : )

  • Good video, nice weapon!!!!!

  • nice groups.i think the best is when the bullets are in groups, not far away from one another.

  • very nice rifle! I'm considering on purchasing one for myself but I cant make up my mind on the caliber... I'm stuck between .300 WSM and .308 WIN

  • @ChevyNova808 that'd be a standard sps, not the tactical, tactical only comes in .308 and .223

  • @drewbaby20 ahhh ok... so would the .08 be a better choice?

  • @ChevyNova808 May I offer my humble opinion? If you go with either .308 or 300WM you would be dealing with NATO rounds which will already have millions of rounds shot, lots of ballistic data, and more commonality. WSM is not NATO and therefore it will be up to you and your pocketbook to design your own data. I'm a Accuracy International 300WM guy myself because 1) It's a NATO caliber. 2) It's the same round I use for hunting Elk and Mule Deer. 3) 1000 yds shots are VERY easy! :o) Good Luck!

  • @SaltyOldDawg cool, haha thanks man! I appreciate it!

  • @ChevyNova808

I'd go for the .308. I'm currently looking at the M700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD, and yes, in .308.

  • @pkspence alright, thanks man! appreciate it :)

  • @ChevyNova808 if you were planning to get a new barrel someone told be to get .260 or 6.5 creedmoor but my pick out of those would be .300 win mag (like i said if you want to get a new barrel the creedmoor has the trajectory and wind resistance of a ,300 win mag same price and recoil as .308 so if you are planning to custom it get that

  • Good job keep up the practice.

Make sure u never sacrifice safety when u shoot.. get some good shooting glasses..

Get some professional instruction or join the Marines become a trained RIFLEMAN. The Term every Marine is a RIFLEMAN is very true u will learn safety.and become a great shooter...

  • what kind of scope are you using?

  • your crazy using tires for the target

  • @PAOUTDOORSTV we have a mechanics shop, they are old garbage tires that just get recycled.

  • @drewbaby20 your not worried about ricochet bullets coming back at you

  • Not bad man !!

  • I have one and i love it.

  • i want to live there ;) i think its nice

  • beautiful gun, beautiful pattern. Excellent shooting

  • @huntingsurvival thank you sir. this was way back in the beginning.. under 1/2 inch groups now!!

  • @drewbaby20 two words. hearing protection.

  • @TheMrEpicFail i have plugs in

  • nice shot

  • I am trying to settle an arguement between me and my old man. He thinks that free floating barrels on wooden stocks are superior to free floating barrels on synthetic stocks because the synthetic material is weak and flexs when you shoot making the rifle innacurate where as a rifle with a wooden stock doesn't. I am desperately trying to show him how wrong he is. Anyone got some cold hard evidence?

  • @StunnedMutha well synthetic and wooden stocks are all mounted to the action of a gun in the same places.. there is no flex in those areas. it all depends on the bedding of the rifle not the type of stock it sits on.. fiberglass bedding is the strongest and most flex free kind. aluminum bedding is pretty common as well, which my rifle has.

  • @drewbaby20 Ok cheers man, old people can be really stuborn sometimes :)

  • looks like your scope is got some sort of growth

  • Nice rifle

Word of advice to ya so you can improve your accuracy:

Try and keep both eyes open when you look down the sights/scope

  • your dads going to kill you for shooting his tires XD

  • can you make a video of the scope close up so i can see the clearance it has between the action of the bolt and the scope

  • Some Canadian Ranger units might have their old Lee Enfield's replaced with these. The question is... Can the Remington stand the extreme cold?

  • @Vovk3 yes

  • @Vovk3, the rifle it self is not the problem, it's the magazine. I've come over people who is very satisfied with the rifle. As you may know, the magazine is made of some kind of plastic. When the temp drops down to -15 degrees celsius, will the plastic magazine be very sensitive to impacts. For example if you drop it on the ground. The mag can get so damaged that it will effect your shooting.

  • @Vovk3 yeah right. its not like AWPs are built on the 700 action or anything.

  • @wacombs

What does that have to do with it?

  • where did you get it? and how much?

  • im a us army soldier and I have sniper training.. no disrespect but ur shooting stance I sloppy

  • @USARMYSOLDIER112

Im a US Marine with USMC sniper training... who cares he's a kid.

  • @wyant202 Hey, Im wondering how long have you been in the USMC for before going into sniper training?

  • @USARMYSOLDIER112 what ive learned from a lot of soldiers and my brothers who are both in the army as well, if its comfortable and you shoot good, it doesnt have to look pretty.

  • hows the recoil? i was debating between this and the 223.

what kind of ammo are you using?

  • this shit is bad ass man

  • This vid has amazin sound quality, thats why its amazin

  • nothing like shooting in front of your house. Man I love America.

  • @vampov this is in canada. i live there

  • @drewbaby20

    lmaooo

  • @drewbaby20 Me again. I asked you about scopes 2 months ago, cause I was in the market for a Remington 700. Well I got one..... A Remington 700 LTR "Police" edition. Cost me an arm, a leg, and an eye, but soooo worth it. You mentioned getting a better scope than whats in this video. Could you recommend something not dirt cheap in quality, but also doesn't cost my other arm and leg? Thanks and happy shooting man.

  • @centurion205 i love my current scope, the bushnell elite 3200 10x40.. very nice, fine magnification, mil-dot reticle and target turrets.

  • @drewbaby20 Cool, how much and where do you get them from?

  • @centurion205 mmm i think they are under 300? and you can find em online or likely at your local store

  • Nice Video!!! I have a Remington 710 in 7mm. I would like to start building this rifle into a very long range rifle. maybe a 1000 yards tops any suggestions on some upgraded stuff I could start pricing to help. I know I will need a great optic but what about my stock barrel will this barrel suffice? My scope is only a 3x9x40 upgraded Trigger? I hear you talking about the bolt on the Rem 700 Is mine the same bolt? I thought about polishing my bolt? Thanks everyone

  • @bradmoore8 1000 yards on that gun will be more difficult than on a standard 700 probably the bolt is different and the quality of barrel is probably not great enough to make shots out that far (consistently at least) a better barrel, scope, trigger all will help

  • @bradmoore8 your barrel is press fit into the action and cannot be upgraded, the barrels on the 710 and the 770s and adequate for hunting at reasonable distances, but you wont be able to get out of it what you can a 700, there is little to nothing in stocks, and nothing in barrels you can do, trade it up for a used 700 and then the sky is the limit,

  • how much did that gun set up cost you

  • @westcoastlife4show just under 2 as of now... check newest vids to see what it is like

  • @UltmtSniper once again check newest vids, i have a brownells tactical knob installed. very similar to badgers

  • @UltmtSniper check new vids for updates bud. this is within 30 shots of shooting high powered rifles. Also, the safety "risk" is pre dated something like 1980 rem 700's not much to worry about, i know how to use a gun and am quite safe with them. also, bipods dont jump around too much, like i mentioned before i have much newer vids than this, check those out and then comment. thanks.

  • gets ready to take his shot......."caaarrrr!"

  • Yup, you need lower scope mounts so you can get a cheek weld on the stock.

  • G'Day from Australia Drewbaby! I have bought one of these, they are really discounted at the moment. I had trouble finding onem but dropped into a gunshop 120miles from home when I wqas on a fox hunt and as I walked in, they were pulling it out of the box! It was sold before it hit the counter. I'd get rid of those high mounts they suck. You don't need see through mounts when you don't have open sights on the rifle. Good work Dude!

  • @FourFingersofDeath thanks i know, this is right when i got my rifle, check my newest vids for updats.

  • now you say!

  • just looks like you are using your left hand to pull the trigger and your right to pull back the bolt.

  • @NEVECcommand i was being sarcastic.. yes i am left handed using a right handed gun.

  • Your left handed?

  • @NEVECcommand nooooo...

  • have you ever shot any nato 7.62 through it?

  • @Glockcrazy19 nope but i know they would function fine.. other way around though would not work (putting .308 in 7.62)

  • @drewbaby20 yea thats what i read .308 is hotter. sorry to bother you one last question ahah im really considering one of these i was just wondering do you shoot with your barrel lightly oiled?

  • @Glockcrazy19 negative! always run a patch through your rifle before you go shooting (after it hsa been cleaned). I clean my rifle after every use and leave a coat of oil inside the barrel, but before shooting i rid the oil completely. Best way to go.

  • @drewbaby20 thanks a lot man. im really siked to get one and learn the art of long range shooting! keep makin vids!

  • @Glockcrazy19 no problem my man, any questions at all give me a shout.. and FYI this is my first shooting video and my most inexperienced one as well. check my others and newest ones for more up to date shooting.

  • lol are you supposed to shoot with both eyes open im not much of a rifle guy (yet)

  • @Glockcrazy19 easier to shoot with both eyes open, once you're used to it that is

  • @SKRIBBLE4ME lol possibly.. add me on facebook. Andrew Novak

  • this guy obviously doesn't know what his doing..

  • @dastannx check my newest vids or dont comment.

  • Lol this looks like a M24 haha beautiful gun

  • Leftie! Now your like the the guy from SPR!

  • Hello, I have recently acquired shotgun, and would like to know if I can legally shoot some clay targets outside of Regina in the field?

    Thanks.

  • @xxMIK1989xx can ask a farmer to shoot on their land.. most are open to it.

  • @drewbaby20 Alright, what if I come on the land and there is no one there, and I don't see any buildings near by, can I just start shooting, after making sure that direction in which I will shoot is safe.

Like for example right now it's winter, and there is snow on the ground, so not many farmers around.

I know that you're not suppose to shoot within 500m of a building, and across or along a road if you're close to it.

  • @xxMIK1989xx what i meant by ask farmers is find out whose land it is and then ask them.. go to a farm house and see if you can pop off some rounds outside their land. There are just as many farmers out here now as there are in the summer time. Where abouts around regina are you looking.. or which area are you at. Have I talked to you before? Cuz i live outside of regina. I have never heard this within 500m of a building thing before..

  • @drewbaby20 You know where the skeet and trap club is? It's 4kms from HWY 6 if you drive by Inland Dr.

Well I think the club is closed now, but right across the road from it to the West there is a field and I didn't see any house there, so I was thinking to try and shoot there. Look it up on google maps.

The 500m thing if I remember correctly is from gun safety course.

I have posted some comment on this video long time ago.

  • @xxMIK1989xx hm ic.. well i'd say that if you can find some land where there is basically nothing in sight.. i'd say go for it. shouldnt be any problems, just practice common courtesy and clean up after yourself.

  • @drewbaby20 Ofcourse, I'm gonna pick up all the shells after myself, not sure about the clay targets though since they will all be shattered. Do you know if they are biodegradable?

  • @xxMIK1989xx pretty sure they are.. what kind of shotgun did you get? where'd ya get it from

  • @drewbaby20 I got Mossberg 500 combo with two barrels, got it from wholesale sports.

  • @xxMIK1989xx ah yes neato. next time you buy a gun, check out darren in avonlea.. better prices and great guy

  • @drewbaby20 Is he a private seller or does he have a shop? may be a website?

  • @xxMIK1989xx prairieguntraders(dot)ca

he has a shop in his house.

  • @drewbaby20 ok, thanks for the advice.

  • Good video keep up the good work.

  • No the M24 is a different beast all together. The M24 will fire the following rounds: 7.62x51mm NATO , .300 Winchester Magnum , .338 Lapua Magnum. Where as the Remington will fire the 308, and the 30-06. and yes it was a paper target.

  • @devildog5524 you can get the 700 in all of theose calibers as well.. basically an m24 is a beefed up 700.. same action, better barrel, better stock. the "700" name refers to the action that is used not everything else. so yes the m24 is a remington 700 but one that is already highly customized to fit the use of marines (i think its the marines maybe army)

  • Comment removed

  • The shooter seems to have good handling skills of weaponry. The Remington 7,62 Tactical is an excellent bolt action rifle for shooting accuracy. I think its best than the 30-06. Good video.

  • @Aeondominux thanks my friend, it really is a very accurate gun

  • @drewbaby20 You mean rifle.

  • The Remington 700 is a beautiful weapon. I know because I used in the Marine Corps. Longest range I have come is 1800 yds, on a paper target. Nice gun man keep up the vids.

  • @devildog5524 holy, 1800 yards? there is no telling where that round is going to go at that kind of range.. must have been a big paper target lol! Thanks for comment.

  • @devildog5524 so the m24 and remington 700 tactical are the same?

  • @MrBobsrevenge basically yes, however the m24 has a better barrel and better stock straight from the factory.. stock i think is a hs precision. dont hold me to it

  • @drewbaby20 oh cool what barrel does it have on it and can you still buy m24s?

  • @MrBobsrevenge pretty sure it is a 5r rifled barrel. not sure which company.

  • @drewbaby20 oh cool thanks for the info.

  • @devildog5524 ha, and they say the range of the .308 is 800m.

  • is the recoil on a .308 round more powerful than a 30-06 round cause thats what i shoot mostly

  • @alucardismaster the recoil on a .30-06 is more than the .308..

  • @drewbaby20 Man, that is a beautiful weapon. My only (in several parts) question is what kinda scope do you have mounted on your rifle? Did you buy it as is or was the scope an add on later on? If not this scope, did you even have one or did it come all plain jane? All the questions are cause I have been looking to buy a Rem 700 in .308 and am looking for some feedback on it. I've shot .308 (my Springfield M1A in .308), but now want a bolt action rifle for outdoor shooting. Check ya later man.

  • @centurion205 the scope mounted on it at the time of this video is a knock off bushnell 6-24x50. peice of crap if you ask me.. If you check my newer videos you can tell that i have a much nicer scope. a bushnell elite 3200 10x40. The gun came just as the rifle. no accessories at all. Great gun, I love it, very very accurate.. and have shot out to 600 yards no problem (farthest i've shot this gun) .

  • damn dude thats a nice gun. what does a .308 recoil like compared to a .270, 30-30, or a 12 gauge

  • @bobiscool308 less than a 12 gauge... similar to a .270.. .270 i think is a little less recoil

  • @drewbaby20 o ok thanks man

  • the vortex razor HD 5-20 is the best scope i have ever owned! put it on my remington 700P .338 Lapua. something like 120 minutes of adjustment, glass is clear as day and its FFP! the mil adjustments instead of MOA adjustments is real easy to get the hang of too and i like it better. the vortex viper i heard is decent, but not enough adjustment in the scope for long range. I used to have an elite 3200 til i saved up enough for the vortex. 100 minutes of adj. good temporary scope for long range.

  • @556longshot the 3200 100 minutes of adjustment? which 3200 are you using.. my 3200 10x40 is only 45 MOA of adjustment

  • @556longshot and thats only if there is a zero stop on it.

  • What did your brother think of the millett scope

  • @GscottS16 still hasnt gotten it

  • How long is that barrel?

  • @Jakobie1086 ''20 inches

  • @drewbaby20 ok thanks for the info. can u email mail me what he thinks of it?

  • @GscottS16 sure man

  • @74mariani i am thinking about getting a millet scope.those things look really good for the price. also i want at least a 12x

  • @GscottS16 i hear mixed things about millet.. some say they are okay, some say they are crap. my brother ordered the long range one for his browning a-bolt target and is going to test it out

  • @GscottS16 not too familiar with the millet scope to be honest with you...i do all my scope shopping at bass pro down here in florida...and millet isnt one ive seen there...not sayn its good or bad ....jus that for my personal preference...i personall y think leupold is the best way to go...nikon and bushnell are respected as well

  • @74mariani pretty much all companies have their best and worst, leupold, zeiss, smidt and bender, nightforce, u.s. optics, all of their line are unstoppable, cant go wrong with anything from those brands. rest of the brands have their ups and downs.. inexpensive bushnells can sometimes have their reticles even fall out! from what i have heard at least.. nikons are good but they do make some less expensive ones that i hear have some problems as well.. like you mentioned, millet nobody i know.....

  • @drewbaby20 has had any hands on experience with them, my dealer sells millet but hasnt sold very many, he hasnt had really any feedback on them so he cant really recommend them or anything.. but from what i have heard on forums and the like is that they send mixed signals, some like em some dont, some call them the best scope they have ever used some say worst.. hopefully we will have high hopes with this one.

  • @drewbaby20 what scope do you use? ..(on the sps tactical)
