He got 3rd in world player of the year. that is all teh accolades he has gotten. yet as a creative passing midfielder he is one fo the best ever. as far as his ability to control a midfield and a team with his movement, he is bar none the best midfielder in history. will his name go down like that? i dont think so because people lean so heavily on awards won when looking at how good a player is

The game back in 05/06 wasn't that good. He made a decent run before Eto'o's goal, but he didn't dominate the play like this.. He'd always be able to make the same runs, but he didn't that against Real Madrid.

And the run when Etoo scored, was only one of them.

I remember that after match everybody talked about Ronaldinho. But also they said that little Messi was superb also.

those were better moments in my opinion, but total performance? i think of the 6-2 madrid game, the osasuna game january of 09, the bilbao game of march 09 - in those matches, he never lost possession once, received a lot of fouls and basically played a perfect match

he was also really good against man utd semi finals in 08, but he was all alone

i also believe that if he had finished that last run instead of being fouled for penalty, it would be the greatest show ever for him
