Ps3 ,3ds,pspvita,xbox360 games are atrociously expensive ...that's why I'm happy with my mobile phone and my DSi (with epic games like DragonQuest IX,Valkyrie Profile,Kingdom Hearts etc.)

People think PS2 is a great console because of the game library. It was large and had great variety, and while it was the weakest of the 3 consoles that generation it wasnt by the same margin the Wii is to 360/PS3. And by the way the Gamecubes memory card was also 8MB, it also came in smaller variants too like 512KB but who remembers that right? All fanboys are equally bad, they are irrational, and delusional.

The PS2 was defined by it's software. For years I hated it for the poor quality hardware but the machine's truly got one of the most diverse libraries out of any games console, particularly if you're into obscure shmups and fighting games. It's much easier to get the PS2 version of Sol Divide or Gunbird 2 than on Saturn or Dreamcast respectively. A couple of months back, I got Strikers 1 & 2 for 99p on PS2. How much exactly would that cost if I bought them on PSone?

Actually Gamecube peripherals were cheap compared to the PS2's. Heck I remember them giving away memory cards with certain games. Also you'll find that the gen after the rumble packs Nintendo decided to incorporate them into the controllers themselves. Sony STILL forces people to buy memory cards for their handhelds.

I own all the consoles. I support good games. Each console has its great titles. I am unbiased. What is good is good. What is bad is bad. The main problem with this generation of gamers is every fanboy out there is so dying to get their shaking hands on the next hit of video game crack that they pre-order bad games months and months before it is even released based purely on a god damn 30 second trailer with 0 in game footage. In turn making developers not give a shit if the game is finished!!!!

If you're going to give the PS2 grief for not have enough memory card space, you should acknowledge that the GameCube's memory cards were much worse. They only had 50 blocks of memory with many of its games using dozens of blocks for a single save file. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 goes as far as using 34 blocks for a single goddamn file!

@Vicsor the camera view movements from the n64,were flawed because the view often got stuck in a position that left you blind.
It would be beyond stupid to insist that the camera angles problems didn't exist,and they didn't inder the gameplay,and even add a sort of unnatural difficulty curve.
I'm not saying the problem does not exist. I'm saying it's not a game breaker that warrants the game the label of shovelware atrocity. Again, you may personally dislike the game but I know plenty of people who count it amongst their favourites on the N64, myself included.

I think that the main strenght of PS2 were games. It was a well-rounded console. You had your usual driblle for FPS and Madden loving demographic, but it had a lot of great and unique titles like Silent Hill 2, Ico, Shadow of the Collossus, Persona 3 and 4, Zone of Enders and etc. But PS3 sucks.
Fanboys of anything regardless of medium are terrible, that's a fact we all can agree with. Still when it comes to which is "worse", I have to go with nintendo fans. I bought a damn sd card to memory stick duo adapter (fuck sony memory prices) just to finally play some of the apology/outage psp games from psn and also all the psone originals I had purchased. Fired up the ps3 was told I needed a fw update before I could copy them onto the psp. So I did. Guess what the Fw update killed the feature I was installing it to use. Fuck Sony.
No way you/friends got a 200+mb usb flash drive in 2002. I can remember clearly being really excited to get a 64mb flash drive in 2005 for 24 dollars on a one day sale a Fry's Electronics. I still have the flash drive. But yeah I am also pissed at Sony over too many things to count anymore.

See on console you have to code your game to work on up to three entirely separate systems. On PC it's just one or two. The most difficult task in these aspects would come from multiple operating systems.

My allegiance, as it were, used to be squarely with Sega. When I was younger and my parents made my buying decisions, I got Sega consoles, and loved every single one, hell if the Dreamcast hadn't sank, I'd probably still be on Sega consoles now! I also had a PlayStation 1, N64, and eventually PS2 during my teenage years, my fondest gaming memories are based around the Mega Drive, with the N64 in second, and the PS2 in third.
Right now, I have a 360, because it had the more interesting exclusives at the time, and my friends in uni were on 360, so if I wanted to play multiplayer with them, it had to be on 360 (because split screen is dead, but another rant for another time)
Honestly, I'll probably get a PS3 eventually for Uncharted, more Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, and Metal Gear Solid 4, but I'll probably wait to see if the next Kingdom Hearts is going to be exclusive to PS3 first.
I only bought my PS3 because I had always grown up with a Playstation of some sort(lame excuse I know), and to be honest all it is now is a glorified PS1 for me save for a couple PS3 games.

People think PS2 is a great console because of the game library. It was large and had great variety, and while it was the weakest of the 3 consoles that generation it wasnt by the same margin the Wii is to 360/PS3. And by the way the Gamecubes memory card was also 8MB, it also came in smaller variants too like 512KB but who remembers that right? All fanboys are equally bad, they are irrational, and delusional.

The PS2 was defined by it's software. For years I hated it for the poor quality hardware but the machine's truly got one of the most diverse libraries out of any games console, particularly if you're into obscure shmups and fighting games. It's much easier to get the PS2 version of Sol Divide or Gunbird 2 than on Saturn or Dreamcast respectively. A couple of months back, I got Strikers 1 & 2 for 99p on PS2. How much exactly would that cost if I bought them on PSone?

Actually Gamecube peripherals were cheap compared to the PS2's. Heck I remember them giving away memory cards with certain games. Also you'll find that the gen after the rumble packs Nintendo decided to incorporate them into the controllers themselves. Sony STILL forces people to buy memory cards for their handhelds.

If you're going to give the PS2 grief for not have enough memory card space, you should acknowledge that the GameCube's memory cards were much worse. They only had 50 blocks of memory with many of its games using dozens of blocks for a single save file. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 goes as far as using 34 blocks for a single goddamn file!

It would be beyond stupid to insist that the camera angles problems didn't exist,and they didn't inder the gameplay,and even add a sort of unnatural difficulty curve.

I think that the main strenght of PS2 were games. It was a well-rounded console. You had your usual driblle for FPS and Madden loving demographic, but it had a lot of great and unique titles like Silent Hill 2, Ico, Shadow of the Collossus, Persona 3 and 4, Zone of Enders and etc. But PS3 sucks.

@sage12125 No i mean THEY save money in development, its a fact that it takes less effort to develop on consoles, thye might not leave PC behind but the focus is shifted now you get more console ports than EVER! Skyrim for one, is entirely designed for consoles, the menu the controll, eveyrthing is Console focused, and PC ppl gets angry about this!

@Darkernorakeln With all things considered it's probably roughly the same, if not less expensive, to develop a game on the PC. See on console you have to code your game to work on up to three entirely separate systems. On PC it's just one or two. The most difficult task in these aspects would come from multiple operating systems.
It's true that developers care less about the PC. But that's because console players have proven to be significantly more profitable.

I have a degree in A+ PC repair. I built this PC from scrap parts I got out of the trash and I've repaired it three times, shut the FUCK up.
My xbox: $200.
The cost of a PC capable of being "considerably better than a console," even building it yourself is considerably more. And you don't have hackers, modders, glitchers, or fucking hardware or driver issues.

My allegiance, as it were, used to be squarely with Sega. When I was younger and my parents made my buying decisions, I got Sega consoles, and loved every single one, hell if the Dreamcast hadn't sank, I'd probably still be on Sega consoles now! I also had a PlayStation 1, N64, and eventually PS2 during my teenage years, my fondest gaming memories are based around the Mega Drive, with the N64 in second, and the PS2 in third.

Right now, I have a 360, because it had the more interesting exclusives at the time, and my friends in uni were on 360, so if I wanted to play multiplayer with them, it had to be on 360 (because split screen is dead, but another rant for another time)
Honestly, I'll probably get a PS3 eventually for Uncharted, more Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, and Metal Gear Solid 4, but I'll probably wait to see if the next Kingdom Hearts is going to be exclusive to PS3 first.
