my grandfather stood and watched the unmarked graves even when the weather was horrible...i know how it feels when family is kia (killed in action) they fight for our freedom and ever since i was at least 1 and 1/2 years old i have understood freedom never comes free. my friends thought i was crazy when i was little but now they know wat i mean and they feel sad for me. My family is a true blue military family all my cousins, uncles, grandfathers, and my dad have been or still in the military.

My moms boyfriend, had a friend who died back in 1998 and now his grandpa died a day before my birthday and their sharing a stone in Mill Spring Cemetery. I don't know them real well but I am proud to say I know their family and friends.

I have a brother in Afghanistan and one in Korea. Songs like this mean soooo much. I've been to Arlington twice and the Changing of the Guards. I hope my brothers don't end up there. It's very sad but yet an honor to be there. I now know what families go through on a day to day bassis having family over seas and I can say it's hell

i have always wanted to go there but my whole grade is going to DC this week and im the only one who had 2 stay back that wasnt bad, my dad wouldnt even let me raise money 2 go (a few kids had to stay back because they were expelled/sespended) i hate that 2day i smiled and waved with the rest of the school smiling wen my heart was really breaking inside.i didnt want 2 ruin my friends' good time so i pretended i was just really happy for them instead of so sad and left out, it was the right thing

i had a great uncle die in vietnam and a great grandfather die on omaha beach in world war 2 and 3 relatives my dad,cousin and grandfather serve in the first gulf and iraqi freedom and enduring freedom so this song hits home.

My great uncle on my dads side was killed in vietnam while trying to rescue some of his fellow comrades that where wounded and pinned under enemy fire, and my grandmother was giving the option to burry him in arlington but said that he would have rather the spot be given to someone that better deserved it.

@wwiibigfan I'm thankful for your uncle, i cant imagine having a relative kia. my great uncle served in wwII, so did my old history teacher's dad (marine) stormed an island in the pacific. his tank division was the only division to make it past to the beach the first day, was wounded by a Japanese sniper, after his friend was. had only 30% of blood circulation, for the rest of his life.
