I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons online on my AA1, isn't amazingly fast, but is still very playable. I got mine running lots of emulators as well, and Cave Story. I've also been playing Dungeon Fighter Online, and Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. It's amazing how much you actually can game on it, if you experiment lol.
Very nice! Just because a game is older does not mean it can be lots of fun all over again on your new portable. I have loaded all of my older games on my Gateway net book with a ATI R 200 Chipset and they do fine, Console emulators are fun as well.
its great a netbook can run games like this, and the fact the native resolution is low means that puting all settings to low in the games doesnt look that bad
i can vouch for the realness of this video, my averatec c3500 with only 64mb of VRAM played this game on all low at an average of 15 FPS which isnt GREAT but its not horrible, this netbook is more powerfull because it is 4 times the power of what i have now.
i have 1... so YES it will run. cus it runs on mine. just set everything to LOW settings. AND you CAN upgrade to 1.5 GB of ram. just google a how to for that ish. cheers!

I found out with the AA1that i can play some modern games, and its super fast boot speed allowed me to just turn it on even when i only had time to write a few paragraphs. (yes it can use Office 2007, and 2003, because of its large hard drive space).
plus it's 8.9in or if you prefer the 10.1in screen is wide screen so it's great for movies

ya, kinda suX. I put all except one setting down to LOW too. I might try again one day, but I'm 98% sure it doesn't work. I just didn't want to fuck up my computer.
It will work fine. Assuming you actually purchased a copy or this game. It reads the settings in the beginning and should automatically select the Direct 3D settings. All your other settings will also automatically be set to "low". But it WILL run! Look... there's a video showing it!

Hey, I bought far cry off steam but when I try to start it, nothing happens.
So I went to the install directory and tried running it from there, and i get an error like this
"Mfc71.dll Not Found"
I was just wondering if you got a similar problem when you installed it?

portal is NOT working on Aspire One XP 1.6 intel Atom. I repeat, NOT WORKING. blue screen of death after a smooth yet slightly slow start up. first test, then crash. blue screen of death. Sorry bro. PS. steam has demoS! gotta love Steam or Direct2Drive!

ya, kinda suX. I put all except one setting down to LOW too. I might try again one day, but I'm 98% sure it doesn't work. I just didn't want to fuck up my computer.

I've got the Advent 4211 it doesn't play Portal either, or any HL2 mods, but it runs HL2 just fine (its a mini laptop aswell) I got
1.6GHz Atom (24% OverCLock) runs at about 2GHz
1GB RAM
80GB SATA HDD
128MB Graphics Card (24% OverClock)
All is good for HL2, runs smoothly but all mods say Memrory could not be Written or Read

It will work fine. Assuming you actually purchased a copy or this game. It reads the settings in the beginning and should automatically select the Direct 3D settings. All your other settings will also automatically be set to "low". But it WILL run! Look... there's a video showing it!
