  • Almost used James Dean's famous last words exactly, (1:43).

  • When I'm standing around, I tend not to do it in the middle of the road.

I also keep out of the muddy ditch.

    You should try it !

  • WTF ???

    Mask it like this instead:

    domain [DOT] us

  • Well, in the case that happens I hope that not many die, but just you.

    I'm kidding. See I don't even want you to die. Ain't I nice? :)

Humans are not a cancer to the earth, but they can behave like one. But then again, the world is too strong to really suffer from us tiny humans. It's just going to be forced to activate one of countless mechanisms and that may force us to become extinct.

So the planet's fine, really. We can decide whether we want to be extinct or not. I don't like extincting.

  • That would at the same time be very unjust to all the innocent animals,,,

  • Hes trying to make things simple either you jump in the mud and save your live or you stay and hope the driver see you and doesnt kill you . So do you want to w8 untill someone proofs humans have no impact on global climat change or will you try and prevent it

  • you obviously either missed something, or his talking points went way over your head.......nnnnnnnerrrrrrrooooooom

  • To AGWisBS : Please provide sceintific evidence of the equivilent weight of N.A.S. and A.A.A.S. that disproves the scientific FACT that human's are causeing Climate Change.

Only when you do this or take back what youve said I will stop thinking that your a rude ignorant fool whose in denial.

Until then i urge people to ignore you. sorry.

  • As far as my circle of acquaintaces go, no one is in any doubt that there is an imminent problem of climate change. Although the deniers are vocal I suspect they are only a small minority now, and it is time to devote energy to explaining the problem (not only proving its likelihood) and weighing action options. The lack of understanding of the problem and lack of apparently practicable options are the real problems facing us.

  • bailyrg,

If you want to discuss the issue of possible solutions, one place to do this is at the manpollo website.

If the various nationsl of the world can get behind this problem it is fixable.

My point of view. The technologies exist. All that needs be done is to build them.

  • dezldummi, I'm sure that regardless of when you decide to jump, the assumption is that you jump clear of any possible path the truck takes.

  • Takes a mighty thick skull indeed to withstand this much pounding from the logic stick..

  • But we, the unwashed masses, have been trained to accept name-calling and non-logic and double-talk as valid arguments. If only we hadn't all been taught to dismiss logic and intelligent debate as "nerdy." Sigh.

  • watching this i think of monty python "life of brian"

What have the romans done for us?

    Roads and aqueducts

other than roads and aqueducts what have the romans done for us?

    public health

other than roads aqueducts and public heal what have the romans done for us?

    trade

other than roads, aqueducts, public health and trae, what have the romans done for us?

  • you should be jumping long before the truck is even near! Don't be sitting so long in your comfort zone because action takes effort. Even at a small cost of something called "effort". I don't feel dumber simply because I act, I feel more prepared, and preparedness at small effort is nothing to me...its an investment.

  • Hex, i think of murphy's law..." anythign that can go wrong, will" In my life i have learned anothe rmurphy axim..." when your prepare for contengencies, thats when they 'never" happen." Except in the case where WM42's black ozze blew up. BUT he had been a good murphy's lawyer. And thats what we need to do with this climate change, be good lawyers. IMO the entire system needs governments and populations to sit and reevaluate line by line and include GW and natural science on top, fredm nxt

  • You should link to the :Logical Fallacies" web page(s). Ad hominem arguments :P

  • I get my kicks by hotwiring cars!!!! ... in gta IV

  • One good reason to watch this...good analysis of what makes an argument, well, an argument

  • It's Easy to Aurgue. having a point and providing the Solution would be more productive however, and bitching and moaning isn't actually "doing something". Co2 emmisions are a problem and they need to be cleaned up? Tell me How. We need cleaner technologies? Build them then. We need to have Someone do Something? Start with you. Consumers drive demand and you bought the fucken $7000 gasoline car over the $140,000 electric car...didn't you?

  • it's kinda funny b/c these same sorts of comments can be made about religion when it comes to believing faith or fact, too.

  • The difference is that here, you don't need to believe anything; there is evidence to work from. For faith, you need, well, faith.

  • Well. Saying something is so, such as "Humans came from Apes" or "There was a Big bang that created the Universe" and then looking for the evidence to support that Belief (oops, "B" word is never good for True Science) is often going to lead to "proof" to support a belief with the Evidence slanted toward the belief which is why in most colleges Anthropology and Cosmology is considered Philosophy or Theology rather then Practical or Applied Science

  • See The Nature of Science (the very first expansion pack video). I'm scientifically trained myself (physics); that video accurately shows the lay person how a scientist thinks.

Simply put, scientists are trained to avoid starting from belief and looking for proof. Generally, we observe something and let the observation shape us, or we generate a hypothesis and then attempt to disprove it.

The phenomenon you're describing, confirmation bias, is one thing we are all trained to avoid.

  • Also, science and faith are not mutually exclusive.

Science doesn't ask for your faith. It just asks for your eyes. You can believe whatever you wish, so long as you keep your eyes open to the world around you.

Faith doesn't ask for your eyes, only your heart. You don't need to observe God to have faith that He exists.

  • That about magically absorbing heat... I have never heard that. What i have heard is that enough GHG will reflect sunrays back to earth. And through that process making them last longer aka. making it warmer. Am i wrong?

  • Mefano:

Here's a quote from RealArchAngel that should put his background in perspective, and show you how futile dealing with him is:

"...the Egyptian Empire wasn't built in Sand. The Earth Poles do occasional switch places and the area was more lush when the Nile used to flow from what is now south to what is now north. When the Poles Realigned the Nile Reversed and lots of areas dried up..."

Evidently, he can't tell the difference between gravity and magnetism. I suspect he's a LaRouchite.

  • jpcurley: "...these same sorts of comments can be made about religion ..."

The really interesting part to me is the similar way that the ones arguing against the scientific evidence are able to keep the blinders on and just say, "nuh uh nuh uh." And never try to refute a scientific claim (well logically anyway)

  • Um. Global Climate Change is not made from Humans dumping CO2 into the Oceans though it is such a waste as Co2 iself can be a fuel and can be converted into plastics and such. So changing the laws so so much waste doesn't happen is a good thing. But decades from now when recharging your elecetric car or Air car at the Station if you look up it still will say Exxon, Chevron,76,BP and there still will be taxes and fees attached to your recharge service making it $3-$6 or whatever....lol

  • It seems you're listening more to industry than to science on a scientific issue.

Doesn't that send up red flags about your reasoning?

See The Nature Of Science, Mechanics of GCC, Scare Tactics, and The Solution. Then check his sources (remembering credibility, as he mentions here if you agree with his rankings) and let the information form your opinion, not the other way around.

  • I am a Scientist. Not a Climatologist mind you as my specialty is Alternative Fuels and Artificial Life systems but to call the tree hugger political bullshit "science" is a disgrace to the term Science. CO2 that humans release is 5x heavier then "Air" and the "greenhouse gas" Co2 is .036% blended in the "Air" and Human released CO2 can NEVER mix into the "Green house effect" to "Cause Global Warming" as "they' claim. And Co2 Expands when exposed to heat, not Asorbs it

  • I'm curious, ArchAngel, from what institution did you recieve your degree?

  • University of Hawaii. But pieces of paper say that you graduated and not necessarily you grasp the concepts of your chosen field or you have ability to use the knowledge properly and expand on it by using your own research and experiences and experiments instead of just re-babbling what you've been spoon fed. I've done hands on Co2 volume testing...have you?

  • No, but I'm always willing to listen to somebody smarter than me. Instead of telling us what won't work, what do you suggest we do?

  • Definitely stop "pissing in our pool". Build Containment converters that recapture CO2 for reuse and/or develop technology that uses CO2 as a fuel source as once upon a time Gasoline was a "useless Byproduct' of making Kerosene. Lastly don't bother with the Politicians but instead demand cleaner technology from Industry. The Automotive Companies won't sell cars with "dirty" technology if nobody will bu them.

  • with you being an "archangel" and all, do you completely make up absurd scientific ideas just like some people made up the completely absurd idea of religion?

  • TRAA: "The Automotive Companies won't sell cars with "dirty" technology if nobody will [buy] them."

The problem is, we have to buy dirty technology because that is all that is available. Industry isn't going to bother doing anything different because they don't have to. We can't pressure them by using something else - because there isn't something else. That's why we need the government to 'encourage' Industry to come up with the alternative first before we can vote with our dollars.

  • Pfft. Lost a "y" in Buy..lol. Lastly, Definitely don't buy into the Hype as Exxon,Chevron, etc will still provide the "commercial power" no matter what the power source is for "Gridded" technology. If you want to make a difference now you can use battery arrays and solar panels and Wind mills to get your house off the "grid" then in turn your Electric Car wont still be a part of the problem by deriving it's electric Charge from a Oil powered Electric Plant...lol

  • TRAA: "...when recharging your elecetric car or Air car at the Station if you look up it still will say Exxon, Chevron,76,BP and there still will be taxes and fees attached..."

I've seen you mention this before, but I don't get it. So what? How is that an argument against trying to prevent GCC?

  • Wish is was 115 Million views instead of 115.

I will now try to email you to appauld you!

Wish I was more wealthy, I would give you a $billion dollars to say thank you.

Leonard DiVinci would be proud of you! You are a rennesiance man extraodanaire. A command of Psychology and other hard sciences. Wow!
