He is talking about tent revivals. I know because I am from the south. We went to tent meetings and had revivals and rededicated/dedicated our lives to the Lord. When I attended those meetings I firmly believed those old saints that have long gone to the Lord, could raise the dead, heal the sick and walk on water. I saw them do many of these things. The power of the Holy Ghost would descend and we would cey bvecause we felt so humble in that holy presense. Great miracles happened.

Kids are so spoiled by the quality of the music today used to play a 78's, 33 1/3 and 45 's no matter how scratched they were since they were too expensive to replace. Appreciated what we had even though sound quality wasn't great. Thanks for the memories - scratches and all! : )

I always liked this song, but just recently realized this is a GREAT song written by a genius songwriter at a time when great music was plentiful- at his age, boy he wrote great stories with great buildup. I remember my dad's silver Buick LeSabre with it's tape deck and choice of 4 cassettes: Anne Murray's Greatest Hits, Abba's Greatest Hits, Rod Stewart's Blondes Have More Fun and a Greatest Hit's compilation of Mr. Diamond's songs.

When I bought my dad the Cadillac that he always wanted I had a CD player put in and bought him the Neil Diamond and Rod Stewart albums to play in it, not being too keen on the other two.

@pie0my You might want to check your needle; I hope it's not ruining the rest of your records. Great song either way, the ending sounds amazing on headphones (even with the distortion); I never knew how much was going on the the background when listening through speakers.
