  • I'm a 31 year old rap fan. Like to think i'm tough as nails and I think Neil is the fuckin maaaann

  • He is talking about tent revivals. I know because I am from the south. We went to tent meetings and had revivals and rededicated/dedicated our lives to the Lord. When I attended those meetings I firmly believed those old saints that have long gone to the Lord, could raise the dead, heal the sick and walk on water. I saw them do many of these things. The power of the Holy Ghost would descend and we would cey bvecause we felt so humble in that holy presense. Great miracles happened.

  • There are two types of people in this world; those who love neil diamond and those who don't. My ex wife loves him...

    ~Bob Wiley

  • @BigAgitator Tell me do you like him?LOL

  • @Desiree50able I don't. I love

  • Great Song

  • You have earned my eternal gratitude for posting this. Thank you.

  • there have been so many good songs written in our world. some never get heard, others are still to be written. but this is one takes it's place as one of the best ones, like all those other "best" ones. hard to put my finger on it what it actually is that makes it so great. i think its because it sets my spirit on fire, and i think thats what all the best songs do for us. "..and everyone goes, 'cause everyone knows, brother Love's show.."

  • "Take my hand, Dear Lord, walk with me this day. In my heart I know I will never stray". Halle, halle, halle, halle halle, halle, halle! Say love, Brother Love, say Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show (Halle, halle!)! Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone goes! I said love, Brother Love, say Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show! Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone goes! It's Brother Love, say Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show (fade out)!

  • "(Hallelujah!) Brothers( Halle, hallelujah!)! I said Brothers (Hallelujah!, Halle hallelujah!)! Now you got yourself two good hands (Hallelujah! Halle, hallelujah!)! And when you're in trouble, reach it out to the Man up there, 'cause that's what it's there for (Hallelujah! Halle, hallelujah!)! And when your heart is troubled, reach out with your other hand (Hallelujah! Halle hallelujah!)! Reach it out to the Man up there, 'cause that's what He's there for (Halle, hallelujah!)!

  • The room gets suddenly still, and when you'd almost bet you could hear yourself sweat, he walks in. Eyes black as coal, and the look on his face, every ear in the place is on him. Startin' soft and slow like a small earthquake, and when he lets go, half the valley shakes! It's love, Brother Love, say Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show! Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone goes, 'cause everyone knows 'bout Brother Love's show!

  • Hot August night, and the leaves hanging down and the grass on the ground smelling sweet. Move up the road to the outside of town, and the sound of that good gospel beat. Sits a ragged tent where there ain't no trees, and that gospel group is telling you and me it's love, Brother Love, say Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show! Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone goes, 'cause everyone knows Brother Love's show!

  • I also love Neil Diamond's music. Good is universal. This classical stuff.

  • I always wondered if this song was written after someone saw the "Brother Love" episode of The Big Valley and now seeing that it was recorded the same year I would about bet on it!

  • love when DAVID SPADE did this song!

  • OMG!!! ITS A

RECORD YOURE PLAYING! I CAN HEAR THE 'FUZZY SOUND"!!!!!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I HAVEN'T HEARD AN LP IN YEARS....GOT TO GET A RECORD PLAYER AGAIN!!!!

  • This song make me forget about everything !!!!

I also like the song walk on water lyrics, listening to the one next!!!

  • This song make me forget about everthing !!!!

  • Kids are so spoiled by the quality of the music today used to play a 78's, 33 1/3 and 45 's no matter how scratched they were since they were too expensive to replace. Appreciated what we had even though sound quality wasn't great. Thanks for the memories - scratches and all! : )

  • @tracy5219 I always recorded the record the first time I played it so I could save the vinyl for special occasions. Wore our many tapes that way!

  • My wife came in while I was listening to this and gave me a funny look. I told her "Yeah I like Neil Diamond, so what!"

  • @mattwu911 you tell her and don t let no one change you LOL

  • @mattwu911

    PERFECT,LOL

    thumbs up

  • @mattwu911 We walked in on our thrash metal friend & he said the same thing!

  • @mattwu911 Well, you have good taste! Neil is great!

  • I always liked this song, but just recently realized this is a GREAT song written by a genius songwriter at a time when great music was plentiful- at his age, boy he wrote great stories with great buildup. Like dylan and young, they wrote their ass off and then they became gems in the studio and live, neil and others, there will never be duplicates, you guys were on of a kind.

  • Great Song, One Of My Favorite Neil Diamond Songs.

  • for those of us who grew up on vinyl, this s great!

  • This is a great song, it's too bad that I heard this song; up in my room when my Mom

Told me that my father was murdered coming home from a legit job after years of

Being in prison and finally getting his life together. R.I.P. Van.

  • Niel Diamond is a latter day saint/prophet!...

  • Amen

  • I love this song...

  • I SAY BROTHA!!!!!!!

  • I remember this song well with great memories. Thanks for posting,Peace Des

  • The piano playing and tone on this song is incredible, notably @ 1:03-1:09.

Finally, he made the Rock Hall Of Fame, and well deserved.

  • What true Faith can do for you? Brother Love's Salvation Show. No looking back...Reach out to the communities..to the estranged brother, son, father, sister, wife and daughter..while the lights are still on..and the hour's not past..to the Prodigal Son.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  • My mom had the album Neil Diamond's 12 Greatest Hits (MCA-1974) and she played it all the time...I have it on CD and I play it every chance I get! love cranking it up on " hot August nights"

  • @94cadillacfleetwood My mom had the cassette version of that, and it the sole thing that started me in Neil Diamond back when i was 4. There are even old home movies of me and my brother dancing to these songs back in '93-'94.

  • @starbond6

I remember my dad's silver Buick LeSabre with it's tape deck and choice of 4 cassettes: Anne Murray's Greatest Hits, Abba's Greatest Hits, Rod Stewart's Blondes Have More Fun and a Greatest Hit's compilation of Mr. Diamond's songs.

When I bought my dad the Cadillac that he always wanted I had a CD player put in and bought him the Neil Diamond and Rod Stewart albums to play in it, not being too keen on the other two.

  • Any chance of re uploading this? the low warbling quality is just killing me. The bitrate sounds too low or something.

  • @starbond6 I'm sorry, I'm not able to upload this one again for a while, but when I can I will try to see if I can get better quality on it. The record itself is very scratchy and noisy, however.

  • @pie0my You might want to check your needle; I hope it's not ruining the rest of your records. Great song either way, the ending sounds amazing on headphones (even with the distortion); I never knew how much was going on the the background when listening through speakers.

  • @lrd9999 I have long since replaced the needle, but groove distortion is the problem here. It's also an issue on his "Shilo" re-issue 45.

  • @pie0my what year was shiloh relesed for air play ? 1972 ?

  • @MrHoward55 The version that became a hit was released in 1970. It was recorded around 1967, though.

  • @starbond6 - when my back gets itchy I just play this song and it scratches my back. LOL!!

  • @starbond6 I love the needle sound. Reminds me of when I was a kid! Don't sweat it. LOL!

  • @StanBennet I love the sound too! I was tellin him that the sound quality is too low. When he uploaded it to youtube the bitrate dropped, and everything sounds "digital" ish.

  • @starbond6 Thank you for not thinking I was being a jerk to you!

  • fantastic song..his 60s stuff were amazing

  • i'm doing a neil diamond field show for marching band and this is our first song. love it:)

  • I love this single mix. The harmonies and changes in the instrumental mix makes it 10 x better

  • @ACDC392333 I agree, I think it's a shame that he doesn't release his UNI single mixes on CD. Most of the ones I've heard are better.

  • @pie0my hey i was wondering if you could do a video of neil diamonds you got to me of the greatest hits that would be great because i love that song and it would be awesome to have it on here

  • @twilightfanedward199 I will try to do that.

  • @pie0my thanks do you which album i'm talking about?

  • @twilightfanedward199 Greatest Hits his 3rd Album released or Greatest Hits 1966-1992?

  • @pie0my greatest hits 1966-1992 is the one i love to death i love his music and his songs to death thanks

  • I'm sad that we don't have music today like we did in the 60's.............but I don't mind a bit that the shirts and hairstyles, such as Mr. Diamond is sporting in the picture, have died a Dylan Thomas death.

  • great

  • @Desiree50 You're very welcome.

  • @pie0my hey man thanks for postin'

    your allright !

  • You're welcome.

  • Pack up the babies, and grab the old ladies, and everyone goes!

  • SHAAAAAA NEIL AIYYA!!!!!!!!

  • The 45 mono mix is different than the album mix in that:

Neil's vocals are double-tracked on verse 2 beginning at 1:10,

tubular bells were added at 2:32, and the tambourine is mixed very prominently especially at 3:18.

  • he inspired me to sing.check out gypwin

  • This 45 mono mix is different from the album version, bells near the end and the tamborine shake. I had to get a 45 copy off ebay to discover it.

  • My favourite song of Neil's.

  • I hear ya, fruitcake.

  • I love the words, and of course the music, it's like a movie or something, the song immediately conjurs vivid images. Amazing.

  • My favorite Diamond song.

  • Great soulful piano at the beginning and especially @ 1:03

  • Neil Diamond at his best!!! Great song!

  • He ROCKS AND IS VERY DEEP

  • OUTATANDING!!!!!

  • This is easily missed on his cds but once listened to is addictive to the point of being the first one you listen to

  • Because the only copy of this mono mix is found on the original record.

There are no CD recordings of this version.

  • The song is not slow, the listener is lol

  • Neil is a brilliant singer song writer

  • I agree! One of the best in the history of rock n roll! I would have to say that the only things hes better at is live performance! His concerts are amazing! his charisma and his voice... AMAZING!

  • this is an all time classic

  • that's some shirt but great song
