@sdsmith29 Well I was referring to the second daizenshuu where it was stated that he's SSJ1, though he tends to have electricity surrounding him, a tip-off to SSJ2. Maybe it's because of the magic of the Potara Fusion so that his SSJ1 stage and its raw power takes on extra (later-stage) characteristics? It's quite possible he would be able to go SSJ2, though.

I think Old Kai said the Potara fusion is stronger than the fusion dance. Also fusion wears off after 30 minutes (sooner if they SSJ4) while Potara is permanent. So say that they were both equal in power. Gogeta would only last 30 minutes before being separated and then anihilated.

guys, vegito and gogeta are equal, but vegito is BETTER not STRONGER because it lasts forever, they don't have to adjust powers and do the dance, and (DB-GT based answer, SSJ gogeta 4 vs omega shenron) going up SSJ transformation decreases fusion time, 30mins would only last 5mins, remember? ^_^, they are evenly match and no winner would result in at maximum, 30mins, vegito would win... ^_^

@paknot Vegetto > Gogeta. Gogeta is formed with the fusion dance. With the dance both beings have to be at even power levels. Vegetto is formed with the earrings of the gods of the dragon ball universe. With the earrings they dont need to be at even power levels and thus Goku doesn't need to surpress his power in order to match Vegeta's.
