to try and answer a few questions.. the dry suit looks like a pinnacle evolution2 dry suit. the tanks are able to be pulled that tight due to the fact that the tops of the tanks are attached tot he top d-ring but then have a bungee around the valve to pull them in tight. as for the hose routing..yes that is flat wrong. it needs to be banded on the tank in a manner so that it can be deployed quickly. light cords are usualy wrapped around the arm to
Loving the way the long hose is routed round the back of the left cylinder making it impossible to be pulled out by a buddy, oh and the umbilical cable hanging down dragging along the rock towards the end.
Side mounting is another way of mounting your tanks for cave diving. The traditional setup is the "twins" - double tanks on your back. Each type of setup offers its own pros and cons.
yup it can be, that's why I went there to test my rig and tweek it out before going to the eye. I'm still getting rid of danglies and repositioning gear. Cheers :-)
The diver in the video has one of the better sidemount positioning that I have seen (most people's tanks are way sloppier than that).
It's obvious that the diver has the D-ring attached to the tank side. Can you tell me how he was able to obtain such a short attachment to his body? Is it a very small bolt snap tied very tightly or is there a custom set up.
My rig is custom with spring clip hard mounted to a custom aluminum plate at the hip. So I am curious how this diver has done his.
Awesome video! I live right near Ginnie, it's the center of the universe for me! Look at my vids, I have footage of the entire 3 counties surrounding Ginnie! We want MORE of this!!!

Is the sidemount a standard positioning method for clearance issues with regard to cave diving?

You might be able to do that ledge with 95s, but this diver is obviously wearing 130s. He's doing it right.
