very nice of you to put such fab vids on youtube free... dont know why you dont make make your own dvds and charge for them! your tutorials r great :)
my problem is that. when i use the channels to make my pic black and white and i save it as a jpeg.i still get a colored pic. is it possible to simply pik the red channel and use what that gives u in a pic
I think you better watch the video again. You have to select all in a channel, then copy, then go back to the layers palette and paste it in before you can save anything.
I was really hoping for a tutorial on true "Black", and "White" and not all that grey. Photoshop is making duotone very complicated. X.x

the whole reason he made this video is to show an alternative to Desaturate, which will lower the quality of the picture.

Great solutions. Particularly love the last one "channel mixer". Thanks for sharing...
lubsoing 2 years ago
Desaturating it is very easy indeed, but I appreciate the options given in this tutorial. Very well done!
skept725 2 years ago
I would just copy a layer and then desaturate it,

how are you making the copy layer and renaming it. I can't get it to work. ALl I get is a white layer.
bbazemore1 4 years ago
Make sure the layer to be copied is chosen. Then hit Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E (PC) or Cmnd+Optn+Shift+E (Mac)
