  • very cool to find videos. My father was in the 11th airborne but I am still trying to find information about the campaigns and his divisions. Any ideas where I can find a roster? Thanks

  • The closest I have found to a roster is found in the book "11th Airborne Division," published by Turner Publishing. Do a Google search for 11th Airborne Turner and it should come up.

  • my grandfater fought in the 11th Airborne during the leyte, luzon, new guinea campaigns. yes... very difficult to find information on the 11th let alone video! cool.

  • My Grandfather of the 96th Infantry Division - Deadeyes, Sgt. R. Grant 'VAN' Van Orsdol ret. entered in the first infantry invasion of Leyte. He related shore-bombardment did almost nothing to weaken the Imperial Marine forces.

  • My Dad was flown out in an L-4 when he was taken ill. He was a 60mm mortar man, A company 1st of 188th 11th A/B.

  • Talked to dad. It was an L-5 Stinson and not an L-4

  • A paratrooper, glider rider or dual-qual in the 188th?

  • @abcdzyxw00000001 Glider wings. He didn't get jump wings until after the war while in Sendai Japan.

  • Go to the History Channel's online store and search for "Los Banos." They produced a documentary all about the 511th.

  • Goo find! My uncle was in 511th H Co. Any other word about 511th in New Guinea and Leyte and liberation of Manila appreciated.

  • cool video!i live in tacloban city...and its very near the site of mc arthur landing

  • Wonderful. Only in rare cases you can find any video from leyte war!
