very cool to find videos. My father was in the 11th airborne but I am still trying to find information about the campaigns and his divisions. Any ideas where I can find a roster? Thanks

The closest I have found to a roster is found in the book "11th Airborne Division," published by Turner Publishing. Do a Google search for 11th Airborne Turner and it should come up.

my grandfater fought in the 11th Airborne during the leyte, luzon, new guinea campaigns. yes... very difficult to find information on the 11th let alone video! cool.

My Grandfather of the 96th Infantry Division - Deadeyes, Sgt. R. Grant 'VAN' Van Orsdol ret. entered in the first infantry invasion of Leyte. He related shore-bombardment did almost nothing to weaken the Imperial Marine forces.

My Dad was flown out in an L-4 when he was taken ill. He was a 60mm mortar man, A company 1st of 188th 11th A/B.

Talked to dad. It was an L-5 Stinson and not an L-4

Go to the History Channel's online store and search for "Los Banos." They produced a documentary all about the 511th.
