To me it doesn't look like the round hit the dog square. Frame by frame it looked like the training round bounced in front of the dog, not sure if it hit it on the bounce though. Yelping doesn't always mean a dog is in pain, could just as well just be scared. .If the intent was to kill the animal it could of been done with one bullet much effective and clean like.

i have some compassion for the animals that are killed by US soldiers but at the same time, unless you or people who would otherwise be against this abuse is willing to put on a uniform and go to iraq and serve, there isn't much room to criticize or persecute.
