  • I have never seen a player piano with the roll in this location, it is surely unique.

  • I no longer have this piano but I'm posting videos of the "new" upright which is an E.P.Johnson with the Rap & Son's Piano Company name on the fall board,

  • @roylangley1 YouTube seems to alter the pitch. it sounds less annoying in person.

  • @roylangley1 why don't you get it tuned

  • @roylangley1 Too cheap and lazy.

  • @roylangley1 It's a 40 year old spinet Since when is a spinet supposed to sound like a Steinway grand?

  • Damn that's scary a ghost playing the piano.

  • Nice... I have never seen a ghost play piano!

  • huh, were are your hands?

  • I'm flabbergasted! I have the highest view count for a Kimball Electramatic player piano. It certainly can't be the piano since it's not the quality of a full size upright. I will have a full size upright in the house by the end of the year. when I do, I'll be shooting an entire new set of videos with a higher sound quality but, probably not in HDTV.

In the mean time.... enjoy this little Kimball while it lasts.

  • I have about 10 more songs that I recorded last week and will put them together for YouTube as time premits. Now that I have pinointed the problems, I am more confident that I can keep this piano playing until I find that upright I dream of.

  • Thanks! This piano is naturally loud and I really can't figure out how to crank it down for easy listening. The tuner said the hammers were not abnormally hard but did suggest installing "Quiet Keys". Since I really don't want to invest more than I have to, I'm just letting it play as is. This piano is in the living room with a very high cathedral ceiling. Therefore the acoustics are not ideal. I shoot about 8 feet from the piano under natural lighting from the windows.

  • Congrats on getting this up and running again. I'm sure you're relieved. Of course I can understand your desire to have a "real" player piano--in that you and I are alike--but this does have a fabulous and very authentic sound. And I wanted to add that your recordings are very much appreciated. Unlike some of the others, YOURS have the volume cranked up and I don't have to strain to hear everything. Am looking forward to hearing the others!!!

  • Thanks YouTube viewers for making this my first video to hit the 1,000 view milestone!

  • The new house a few years down the road will have a ramp to move pianos in and out of the basement with ease.

  • The first time I heard this song "Cheek to Cheek" Desi Arnaz was singing it to Lucille Ball on the I Love Lucy show... it was simply wonderful!! I love this song! I'm curious as to what other rolls you have? Do you have any more from the 30, 40s, and 50s, era... if you do.. you should post more...

  • I was just lucky I guess. I had room in either the family room or living room. I would have preferred to put it in the finished basement but, there is a tight turn at the top that can't accommodate a piano of any size. I now have more cubic feet of piano rolls than I have piano! I store half in the basement and the othe half upstairs. That's another advantage of players driven by Pianonmation or Dislavier systems. The disks don't take up very much room at all.

  • This is a nice little piano but, in my not too distant future there is a big honking upright in my plans. This is the first player piano have ever owned and I picked it up cheap! It's given me a million dollars worth of entertainment.

  • yeah, I'd like to get one of those too.. I just don't know where I'd find the room.

  • thats wicked! im so jealous!
