  • I love the sound of the cuatro! How is it tuned. In Cuba, there seems to be a similar instrument called a Loud` Barbarito Torres of the Buena Vista Social Club plays one

  • The Puerto Rican cuatro has ten strings in five courses, tuned from low to high B, E, A, D and G, with B and E in octaves and A, D and G in unisons.

    The Cuban instrument is called laúd and is played by Barbarito Torres. It is tuned D, A, E, B, F#, C# (or D).
