@racke1993bg hey I got this amp and it is f..ing loud - I just played it on a big hall on a Halloween concert here in South Germany and I had the amp - with PA mic on it only at 4 ... (of 10)
I have the cube60. I don't run it through a extension cabinet. I just play it as is. I have used it in small to medium dance halls. I mainly use the "Blackface" preset on the lead channel. Sometimes the "JC-120" channel. For effects I mainly use the delay set to slapback, and the chorus. I play country but can appreciate listening to other styles as well. I believe these came out in 04. I got mine in 06.
Greetings, Gillen! I just subscribed to your videos and really enjoy your music. With the Roland Cube 60, would it pick up my Takamine Electro-Acoustic classical guitar with nylon strings? I'm experimenting with a fusion of jazz/classical and need nylon strings for Chet Atkins, Earl Klugh, etc. Any problem with nylon strings? Thanks.
I love my new Roland Cube 60! It sounds amazing, whether you do classical, blues, rock, and even 80s metal....way better than the Line 6 Spider III series I tried out....wonder how it compares to the new Peavey Vyper series though since my first amp was a Peavey have a soft spot for them lol
Have you heard any of Rammstein's albums? If you haven't then you should check out their last three albums which have the standard metal tone with the scooped mids. You Should also check out their latest two albums which I think have alot more mids and more gain.
Hey GillenH2o, can you get a Rammstein sound out of the cube 60 using the rectifier model? Because I am trying to get their sound out of my Cube 15x using the Metal Stack setting.
Do you know what bleach is? Because Javex is a type of bleach used for cleaning areas that are hard to clean. It is also a very corrosive chemical that if you get it on your hands and feet it will eat the skin away. So be very careful when using Javex bleach and where protective clothing and gloves so that you don't get any of the chemical on you.
To get rid of the mold in your recording studio get someone to clean it using javex cleaner. This will remove the mold. You will probably have to use it every year because the mold will grow back. Do you have a problem with humidity in that particular room? If you do then you should buy a dehumidifier which will get rid of the humidity by taking water out of the air. Mold needs humidity to grow so by removing it the mold will not grow.
i am seriously considering it, but it needs a repair first, thats why i took it off ebay, i noticed it was malfunctioning, it is either a bad soder joint or a failing power tube, after it is repaired i will decide on weather to sell it or not, but in the interum i sold my genz benz 4x12 and have purchased a line 6 pod xt live effects unit, i would like another cube 60 though
would it be better than an ashdown fallen angel? It seems pretty smooth and seems to have a pretty big low end the 60w especially, people saying on clean the low end is almost to much
the extension cabinet makes this amp sound totally different, it gives it more strenght and definition at high volumes, and yes it gives it a better low end reponse, the cube doesn't sound bad without a 4x12 cab, but it doesn't sound great
hey my cube 60 wont turn on even though all my plugs work. it wouldnt work last night but then it started working, but now it wont work again. can someone help me?
sounds like a possible shorted wire or bad soder joint in the amp making it work intermidetly as the contact moves in and out of position, i say that because if a component had failed it would stop working and not start again, have it serviced, by a tech, or if you are soder savey open it up break out the multi-meter and search out the bad connection, check the power switch first
check the wall socket to make sure it is not deffective, and it's corresponding breaker (in the breaker box) is it a gfi (ground fault interupt) wall socket, if so check to see if something is making it trip, also check the continuity of the plug with a multimeter set to tone it out, and check the plug in variouse positions (move it around)
it is very loud with the extension cabinet, i never turned it up past 5 except to test the loudness when i first bought it, it pushes the cab just fine, it is definately gigable (is that a word), when you do this it is a halfstack, the only drawback is that the rolands speaker does not disengage when the external speaker out is used
i always use the metal stack or the r-fier model with the bass pumped with just enough treble to not be muddy. and the mids scooped and as always the gain maxed, i use a tad of delay for ambiance, and there you have it
like what, i need to know i was contemplating getting one, i know the spider II's tended to get to bassey at high volumes, or at least mine did, what have you heard about the ibanez mimix
i had, but i found that there is mold in the recording room of my rental house(which is sepreated from the rest of the house by a brick wall) , and i am alergic to mold spores, i don't know how long it will take to rectify this problem, if at all so i have had to move my gear back in house, the carvin has to be cranked to a certian level for good recordable tones so i am back to looking for a good modeling amp
i tried the vyper the same day i tried out the spider III, i definatly prefer the spider to that one, i found the vyper to be a tad to shrill sounding for my taste, i am definately considering another cube, i wish they would come out with a stereo head version though, the spider III head is 150 watts mono, and 75 per side in stereo
i may get another cube 60, but i am unsure, i went and checked out the spider three, i was impressed by about 10 of the 400 patches, but the sound quality wasn't bad, but i don't know, i have also looked at the ibanez mimix i just want to get the best amp i can for the cash, i probably only looked at the spider 3 because it has a vai, kings x, whitsnake, 5 metallica and warrent patch- also my carvin is on ebay as we speak - when i have the money i will get the amp i really want but till then
Hey! Very nice review and nice playing as well! Thanks for this video, I have a question though, what is the first guitar you use (what is the model?)
Hey, very nice review bro !! i have same 370 dxl with Bill Lawrence XL500 bridge pickup, and i want to buy this cube, but tell me, can i have the very classic thrash y tone from early 80 with lots of high tones burned on a nice max outed gains ?
check out my videos if you want and tell me if this amp will fit my style. Of course i want to play even a flamenco on that amp
i am trying it out as we speak, it is not bad, not great but pretty good - i am currently locked into a bidding war on ebay for my dream amp so my 60 may temporarily hit the chopping block, but i will definately buy another in the event that i have to sell it this week so it may take me about 2 weeks to answer any questions about the cube that i don't get to this week
the 4x12 cab makes all the difference, my genz benz featured here gives nore clear pronounced highs and low mids, my crate blue voodoo 4x12 gives more thunderous lows
that is exactly what empresses me about it so much, you can play jazz, fusion, rock, metal, country, if you can manufacture the chops it cand produce the tone
Youre just simply awesome, I got a 60 too and its the best, its sound and power are great. I love that it can drive a 4 by 12 cab wich is great for playing on stage and using the combo for little concerts or practice at home.
These impressive reviews for the Roland Cube 60 caused me to call a local dealership and see what they're going for these days. The dealer said the 60 had been discontinued and was no longer available. He wanted to sell me a Cube 80 for almost $400.00. He said list was over $500.00 Does that sound high? Thanks.
i paid about $370 for mine, the delay is good and the reverbs and choruses are nice, not enough tweakability for my picky taste sometimes, but very usable
A left handed brother! Nice playing, sweet tone from the amp and cab.
I own a cube myself, though it's only the Microcube RX, 5 watt

about 370.00
gillenh2o 3 years ago

George656 3 years ago

gillenh2o 3 years ago
To get rid of the mold in your recording studio get someone to clean it using javex cleaner. This will remove the mold. You will probably have to use it every year because the mold will grow back. don't use it at all till it's fixed, a bad connection can cause current to arc and burn out vital components and that would be expensive to fix
gillenh2o 3 years ago
check the wall socket to make sure it is not deffective, and it's corresponding breaker (in the breaker box) is it a gfi (ground fault interupt) wall socket, if so check to see if something is making it trip, also check the continuity of the plug with a multimeter set to tone it out, and check the plug in variouse positions (move it around)
