Prihoda was a musician and vioilnist of the first rank - no doubt. I wish recording technology had been invented thirty years earlier to capture the true virtuosity of the man!!!
Great posting! We have no words to thank You for this rare documents. The history says that V. Prihoda was discovered by A.Toscanini sitting in a cafe in Milan(in the gallery near LaScala theatre) where Prihoda played easy listening pieces to survive( with nearly a toy for violin, among the other things....)
Prihoda was one of the best violinists of the last century.
Nothing particularly unusual in this;heavy editing occurs in many violin records, usually to accomodate the finite size of a record.I have, for example,a David Oistrakh recording of the Beethoven violin concerto on one side of an LP!
Immortal! I'm teary-eyed. Can't find a good recording of this on YT, aside from Maki Itoi. I have a great affinity with violinists, being a frustrated one. Thanks!

Great.
I'm sure Prihoda had such Heifetz or Kogan or other more popular brilliant players at that time.
