I was there yesterday and the new 3-D kin kong replaced the old shaking the brigde king kong, the 3-D one sucks ass the old one was the best and they still have that earthquake subway tunnel under it.

King Kong was burned down in a fire, and later got replaced by the new King Kong 360 3D, If your talking about Kongfrontation that was in Orlando Florida it was replaced by The Mummy not Diasaster. Diasaster replaced Earthquake in Universal Studios Florida, and is still pretty much the same attraction with a different pre-show.

to people saying its fake, well no shit sherlock, so is the 3D version and every movie ever made with king kong, DUH. actually, in my mind its less fake because hes made of real damn touchable material and not just something on a screen. but one thing is for sure...you really could never appreciate how intimidating and awesome this king kong was unless you saw him in person! especially as a child!

It's funny on this ride because at one point you can see Kong up ahead of you, but if you look back, you can see the Kong you just passed still standing there lol. PS, this ride was amazing; but what made it even better was the "New York" themed line-up/ entrance way that looked like a graffiti-tagged tram station. classic!

I visited Universal Studios a month after it opened. After a LONG wait, our little cars got about halfway through the ride, AND THEN: the ride broke down with us in the middle! We were riding above Kongs head as he was attacking NY, and I reached out and tapped his big head with my hand. I believe it was a fiberglass casting. Finally, we get started up again, but nothing was working: only us moving toward the ride's end. We stayed in our cars, and took the ride again. Total time: 55 min.

@TheJb3002 actually the fire was not a result of a malfunction with the ride. The fire was caused by a nearby worker who left a blowtorch on which caught fire to the surroundings outside. In addition to this attraction, several sets burned down as well.

I went on this ride in Orlando, the one in CA burned down. Welders torch or something, destroyed the ride. In FL, they got rid of the Back to the Future Ride. Those simulator rides are fun. And what Epocot did with that build your own virtual roller coaster. You build it and then ride the simulated ride. Not sure if that ride still exists yet though. They need a video game, flight combat simulator, now that would be fun...

My mom and I used to love this ride......But orlando replaced it with "the mummy" ride. They keep changing rides so people wont get tired of the rides.
