I got to meet Allen in 2006. Our band went and marched in the Thanksgiving Day parade and played at the USS Missouri. He spent 2 days with us and our kids will never forget him...he was such a joy and delight to be around. Thanks for the video.
I'm sure those 2 days would leave a long lasting impression on your kids. I have him speaking too, and a few of the other survivors but its about 50 minutes long so it wont fit on youtube!
Thanks for the video. I was at the memorial that day waiting for my son, who was on the Nimitz. In fact, I saw the back of my head at the beginning of your video. The Navy band was a nice touch. Proud to be an American
I had family on board US Navy Warship at Pearl during the attack of 7 Dec. 1941.

Yeah its underwater. The memorial is on top of the USS Arizona. Pretty surreal being there and knowing what happened.

yeah, I remember that. If I remember correctly he was in some music company stationed up near schofield barracks during the attack.
