I've always loved this song. It sort of slips through all the Elvis compilations; I have over 100 Elvis records and not one copy of this song. Also a very funny and under-rated movie from a much simpler time. Thanks for posting, all your vids are great.
@teeye1 yep. the movie is great, and even though we are used to say elvis did b movies, this is acctually a good comedy, and the role he is playing is of very good performance. He is really really funny and makes you laugh honestly. It could get more rating, as a comedy
This is take 7, unfortunately only available in mono as the stereo masters were lost. Great band which included guitarist Hank Garland, Boots Randolph, Floyd Cramer, Buddy Harman, Bob Moore, D.J. and Scotty and the soaring vocals of the Jordanaires and Millie Kirkham.
This is one of my favorite songs and I just bought the old 45 EP with this song on it. I plan on uploading a vid of it playing on my turntable sometime soon.
Jackiej61too I have been following your vids and I must say I looooove your work.Great job.I'm a huge huge fan of Elvis, despite my age and I just wanted to congratulate you and thank you!
I do love El of the '50s, early '60s, but this can't be the best he did. It sounds more like a sing-a-long song (and it is, crap song). Waste of an incredible talent. El went main stream and the rebel rocker gone IMHO.
Wonderful song with great lyrics. he never sang something like this ever again had no reason too actually! he had bags of sorrows in his life. See how happy young and carefree he was! he always was until others came into his life and made him miserable while taking everything he gave and...gave until he dropped dead!
You have this listed as by Jay Livingston when it was actually written by JERRY Livingston. Both very successful songwriteres but two different composers!
Written by Sid Wayne and Jay Livingston. Elvis recorded it July 5, 1961 at RCAs Nashville studios for his 1962 film Follow That Dream. It was sang over the opening credits. It is available on the Follow that Dream soundtrack.
I've always been such a huge fan of this very fun and underrated song. It definitely should be way, way, way better known than it actually is. It's a true masterpiece without a shadow of a doubt. This video was absolutely magical in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie. Elvis forever.
I have the original vinyl 45 ep of this! Wonderful song. I wish that all of his movie songs were as good. This is one of the best!

How many songs did Elvis sing, there seems to be no end to it, wonder if exhaustion and all the performing cut his life short. RIP.
