It's easy for you to commend it as it was probably new or had very few miles on it when you drove it. For those of us who actually own cars like this it's a much different story.
I bought my FS in '07 and it hasn't been the greatest experience. For the money, the S55 we traded held up much better.
My FS has 29k miles and has several warranty claims on it for mechanical, as well as cosmetic problems
While on paper the twin turbo Mercedes is a superior performer, from an ownership point of view it doesn't compare to a Bentley. The ride and interior of the Bentley is far more cosseting than anything that Germany can offer. Its a bit like an I-Pod - sounds fantastic and is a technological marvel but offers nothing special compared to a Linn Hi Fi.
You might be surprised to find that the ride in the Speed version is anything but cosseting and the Naim stereo won't appeal to everyone with its incredibly detailed but "thin" sound. That being said...there really is no comparison in the materials and craftsmanship of the Bentley. It's on a higher level like fine furniture or hand made leather shoes.
Actually I'm 6'5" and fit perfectly in the Mini. Smart's not bad but not much shoulder room. One of the funniest things is that an Escalade (Tahoe, Avalanche, Yukon et al) doesn't have enough headroom for me. Go figure.
There's no question that the top BMW and Mercedes models are comparable or superior in terms of content and refinement. What you can't get in those cars, however, is an interior of bespoke componentry and the finest leather, wood and metal work. That's also why the CFS costs quite a bit more...
why do people always get carried away with YOU CAN GET THAT FROM A MERCEDES OR BMW bullshi% the s65 AMG has even more technology, horsepower, luxury, glitz, and poise. OK it's a great car we get that but don't piss on everybody else because your not presently behind the seat of it's competition.
Good clip. Very informative.
Reminds me of the Bentley 'Conti' I tested here in Bangkok a few years ago.
I managed to hit 280 kph outside Bangkok! on the elevated expressway outside. Mynew speed record. It was a Sunday at 11:15 hours, light traffic.

997porsche,
That's unfortunate to hear. They are, however, beautiful to drive and to look at.

My dad has had his Flying spur speed for almost a year and has not 1 problem! But he traded an Arnage and I liked it better.

Well he certainly uses up the entire front seat. I don't suppose they send him to test cars like the Smart or the Mini.

A 600 hp car, for what looks like a 300# guy? He looks cramped w/not much headroom.
