Helemaal perfect. Ik heb een plaat uit de jaren zestig van DGG en die is niet meer om aan te horen. Gisteren kreeg ik een CD met de Tageszeiten uit een erfenis. En nu dit . Te gek.

Telemann sure did adapt to the genres of his time!

@shariotoflove As you listen to his Brockes Passion(by Nicholas Mc Gegan only please!) you might discover he already long time had these ideas.  Sure he knew what the youngsters were doing. Agricola recalls he was under time pressure and didn't make any progress with his symphony. After visiting Telemann, he writes " I walked out of Telemann's door and ... my symphony was ready!" so Telemann could perfectly write in this upcoming style if he wanted to.

@anisuthideyakoindu Interesting read. Its a style which Bach struggled with or wasnt too interested in, although it seems Bach's personality was different and never aligned with this sort of style. In the brockes passion, i dont detect a symphony style like i do here, but it certainly is not what you expect from a passion by the Bachs, a lot more spritely and gallant like Handel.
