Reminder: This is a shop that sells video games! These guys think they are Criterion, 4AD, and MOMA combined in one direly important art collective. Maybe if they released more games we can't find for $10 at Best Buy they'd have a point. They talk about Baldur's Gate like it's the damned White Album and they've restored it from lost master tapes. I'll probably keep buying from GOG.com, but I found this PR stunt ridiculous and the new changes underwhelming. GOGmixs sound like something that nobody is going to use (who is going to be interested in a list of games with only female protagonists). The recommended lists are a moot point because the selection of games is still relatively small and it is easy to find a good game without recommendations.

I am EXTREMELY excited for Baldur's Gate!!! It was the first PC game I ever bought, back when I was a freshman in high school. Wonderful memories. And I never did play Tales of the Sword Coast, so that's a happy addition!

If you guys are able to get System Shock 1 and 2, as well as Planescape Torment, you would be gods among men. (I personally own Planescape, but I'm sure many others would like to snap it up)

This is kind of funny. I originally visited GOG.com because I wanted Baldur's Gate, and thought they might have it. They didn't, but I became a regular customer anyway, because they had plenty of other stuff that I was interested in. I'm glad to see I'll finally be able to get it.

@LordKarnov42 I work professionally in the web, designing and building sites. Bug testing is done on a staging server. After months of beta testing the site is pushed live. This has NOTHING to do with bug testing. That happened months ago. This was a PR stunt; a really stupid PR stunt.

Got the original 5 CD version , the DVD case with BG2 and now the GoG version (same thing with Fallout...)

Just can't imagine my GoG shelf without BG on it =D

Baldur's Gate! I've heard a lot about this game years ago, but I was hooked on Half-Life and Unreal Tournament at the time. I'm definitely going to check that out.

I think id Software is still attached to its classics and sells them in a bundle on retail/Steam so it's not likely. In any case, it's very easy to find id classics online by other means, and the engine enhancements that each game's community has made for those games (since id is always good about releasing source code) mean you'll have no problem making them work on new systems, and looking better than they ever did, too.
