If Channel 4 were on air during the ITV strike of 1979, there would be no commercial breaks, no Countdown, no Channel 4 Mews and certainly no other programmes commissioned by the ITV companies, bar Channel Television.
The songs for those who may be interested, are "Mississippi" by Pussycat (1976), and "Cachapyra" by Incantation (1982). Apologies for the double post - hit the 500 character limit :)
Thanks for that information! I love that song by Pussycat. I was just going to post a comment to find out song title. Kevin, Huntington Beach, California
Enjoyed this! Two minor nit-picking points: Channel 4's testcard was captioned IBA:CH4, rather than just plain IBA, and vocal tracks (particularly commercially available ones) wouldn't have been used on the test card.
Having said that, however, this is very well done, and in a parallel universe somewhere, you can very well imagine Channel 4 doing a trade test transmission like that.
Yes - I know about the IBA CH4 bit. Going to try to apply it using different software to the one I used. Shrinking the characters using that font made the whole lot look wonky - so I stuck to just the IBA part. I have no idea what music was actually used. If you read the tex accompnying the vid - you'll see that I have conffessed to these points! You are a mine of information Sir!
not the same as the bbc :)

Beg to differ.
CH4 used this tes card too: The caption read IBA:CH4
The music isn't original admittedly - read the text and you'll see!
