Actually Alex's dad is a music teacher, ironically. And, you probably saw a bad video, since I'm guessing you've never been to an actual AM concert. you cant put a kooks touch on a monkeys song. it just doesnt work out.
monkeys are straight foward and lyrically ahead and kooks are more about sweetening songs and sugar-coating them. thats why the have such a fan base.
