@2552BKK you dont need to use profanity. the name is muay thai sangha which would certainly account for some of the similarity with muay thai but never in a million years would you get the religious training in muay thai that you get in sangha, which is explained in the video. also this style is based largely on muay chaiya, which is evident to people with knowledge.
I apologise if my grammar isn't good but I'm dyslexic, its something I need to work on. You may have trained your mind in terms of education but you still have many other areas to clearly work on as a human, one of them being manners amongst many others! Good luck, I don't have a book to sell but maybe from my honest response you may learn something.
@superpiccirillo I don't need to be polite. You, however, need to educate yourself. I am also dyslexic, and was in special ed my whole life, until University, where I graduated as the top student in my department. don't make excuses. Being dyslexic doesn't prevent you from studying. And Antonio being a jerk doesn't prevent you from studying. You have chosen to be uneducated. You have made a conscious choice.
If you had read my reply you would of read I am finishing my degree at the moment, for myself more than anyone else. Your over inflated self pride in having a degree shows me its clear where you gain your self worth from. The fact I made a mistake in my typing isn't a sign someone is uneducated , it is a sign they were careless at the time of typing! You focusing on this so much just shows me you understand your reaction to my comment was childish and uncalled for
@superpiccirillo I called you uneducated, not actually because of the typing, but because of the silliness (or is it sillitude?) of your comment. I checked your channel and you only have one upload. You haven't created anything or tried to help or educate anyone. Do you or have you run a better Muay Thai school in Thailand? if so, which one? Also, I checked your age. You are 29 and haven't finished your BA yet.
this guy is a fraud , hate to say it to the people who believe this so much but its a martial arts school bordering on a cult. Although Pedro means well he is more than a little crazy and even he's most loyal students will tell you that.
I would really not recommend this school but feel free to try, however be careful
@superpiccirillo Running a cult doesn’t make one a fraud. There is absolutely no question about Kru Pedro’s ability as a teacher or as a fighter. A lot of people don’t like training with him, because they can’t take the discipline. You have to become vegetarian, follow the rules of Sangha and not drink alcohol. It is much easier to criticize than to comply.
Your grammar and ignorance remind me to encourage everyone who posts on my channel to start reading. I have several university qualifications beyond my BA, and I hope that I can set an example for others. Train equally the mind and body. Remember, your body will leave you long before your mind. No matter how tough and how fit you are now, you will eventually be an injured fat guy with no brains. So, build up your brains in advance of the inevitable and horrible end.
Apologies to everyone that I have trained in the past and conducted in a manner to look outside of themselves. As a human I was looking for the right direction of internal grow but took the wrong path
Meditation is the most direct way of all. Hope everyone forgive my teachings
The school is based now in hard training and meditation. We don't pray anymore rather look inside of our hearts to find answers and try to behave with positive actions words and thoughts
BTW you mentioned a visit to Korea. I'm Korean and personally do not know much about any 'sruviving' Korean martial art except the watered-down Taekwondo. Have you found any?
yes, i studied in korea for seven months. they have a loty of martial arts. i think korea easily has the highest number of martial arts of any asian country where i have studied. i found taekkyon really strange and interesting but what i absolutely loves was ssyrum wrestling. i did articles on it but i will do a video on it when i go back to korea.
Yes there are some more than taekkyon. Subyokchigi,Kichun and Sunmudo they are very unique and not Taekwondo Karate like. There are some vids on utube.
Hey Antonio. Much respect for you, and your series. I was curious as for your thoughts on the old styles of muay thai? are there strong similarities on sangha and chaiya? I noticed that some of the exercizes were similar, but what are some characteristics that set them apart?
Sanha and chaiya have a lot of similarity because kru lek was lru pedro's teacher. but sangha is more focused on fighting and pedro added a lot of modern muay thai, arnis, BJJ and a bunch of other effective martial arts into sangha.
muay thai boran has NO GROUND fighting at all. i have been in asia doing research for 8 years there is no history of ground fighting in thailand at all. Kru pedro has been here even longer than me and he agrees. no ground fighting.
Thailand. it is the only country in the region with no form of traditional wrestling.
if you know of a master in thailand who is teaching ground fighting PLEASE refer me to him and i will train and film with him and show the world that you were right. on my channel you will find muay boran, surin, muay thai, bradal serey, khmer boxing, muay lao all with no groun fighting.
i lived and trained in thailand for many years and still have a house there .l still live there for 3 months every year (i also have a house in the phillipines where i train each year as well)
i m training for 24 years now in mt,bjj, escrima, and mian chaun ,iliqchuan, and various forms of internal martial arts
i have a freind in thailand (one of my bjj students )who introduced me to her mauy thai chiaya teacher , he defiantly has ground fighting and its very sophisticated as well with a set of principles and a technique set that reminds me of catch wrestling (a lot of neck cranks)
But this is not original thai style. kru preang added ground fighting to his chaiya, as do his students, when they teach. there is absolutely no ground fighting in thailand, and there never has been. the ground fighting that you saw was added later
met vincent in thailand, nice guy, very, very knowledgeable and highly skilled. definitely eye opening for me, definitely the man when i comes to se asia and india. He could fill about 50 of these video things but he shuns the whole limelight and is non commercial he is singular without a doubt. Didnt know if you knew him or talked to him. He is without a doubt hard to get a hold of and very private so i understand antonio! I just was lucky to run into him in thailand then he was gone again.
you are lucky to have met him. i have known about him for years and write to him a few times, but he has never responded. i would love to meet him. i have respect for him.
Hi antonio, thanks for your reponse! I just knew about the school from the website which has been around for a long while, first time seeing the footage. He also has two commercial books out which i read. pretty cool series though
Cool little series. But why does it say a hidden gym? its a major commercial school with a big website( i assume at the time it was shot maybe it wasnt know But anyway, its a nice presentation.
The psychoguy, in the us, specially in NYC, check out vincent giordano, he is outstanding in the thai arts especially in the combat realm plus he knows the burmese/cambodia martial arts, an incredible resource, unbelieveable instructor who is deeply spiritual. dont know if mr graceffo teaches as well
Actually its not a big commercial school. at the time i filmed this pedro limited his students to 10. now he doesnt even allow 10 anymore. the website was a gift from a former student but you cant just go there and study without permission and you have to make a real commitment. i have tried to conact vincent about 50 times in eight years and he never writes back.
I was lucky enough to meet Khru Pedro in Ayuttyha.
He took part in the first Muay Boran World Championships. I believe it was a political decision that he didn't win! His technique and ability were exceptional. In my eyes he won!
