@sun10brazil Nope, Lufthansa has only ONE 747 with tvs (has been installed once as a test). The rest of their 747 fleet is pretty old and upgrading them with tvs would be too expensive since all of them will be replaced by the new 747-800

LCD PERSONAL SCREENS ON EVERY SEAT IS WHAT CAUSED THE HORRIFYING FATE OF SWISSAIR FLIGHT 111's DETOUR INTO THE DARK ATLANTIC. There's too many electrical wiring which puts the aircraft at a higher risk should something go wrong, say burning wires. Maybe Lufthansa is smart at overlooking luxury for SAFETY. ( This was to all the remarks on criticizing Lufthansa for being backward. )

I dont get it, nearly every major airline with a 747 never puts LCDs on the seats of their Boeing 747, so this includes Lufthansa, Air France and KLM. I think same with British airways but not so sure with that one? Why is that?

@23961alex Boeing has nothing to do with inflight entertainment...If you travel a lot, you would learn that Entertainment is an option for some airlines that want to cut the cost of buying planes..for example...Qantas and Lufthansa bought 747's in the same period..but those for Qantas have always had screens behind each seat..Its jst an economic option..not all airlines can afford to entertain 400passengers each watching the channel they feel like. So do some research b4 choosing an airline

You're not correct. Japanese obviously is very different to Latin-alphabet-based languages. Since it needs transliteration, multiple results can occur.

Tokio is as correct as Tokyo, but if it is spelled "Tokyo" ambiguities upon pronounce are most avoided since "y" can never take the accent in a diphthong group like, in this case, "yo", as opposed to "i".

Honest who cares about flight screen and such. so long you get where you going thats alright. I think you people focus on the wrong stuff. to injoy the flight is the most importent and maybe eat something nice and such. you dont need a computer, flight screen and so on.. thats just so unnessesery stuff.. And if the plane is old who cares. so long the company has taken care of it. then it doesnt matter really... if it´s flight worthy then it´s ok

I always thought that the 747 has 3-4-3 seeting. how comes, that you have between window and alley only two seats? looks more like an airbus 340 for me

@minakuchi The rear cabin tends to get a bit narrower, hence probably why in the rear, you'll find 2-4-2 seats, while in the rest of the Y cabin, it's 3-4-3.
