Hi i really like what you hve done, I am from kuwait and i am a model railway enthusiast as i has been life long hobby despite thefact there are no trains in kuwait. I have built a dcc mini railway world in my basemnt and will post videos later. I was wondering that i i gae you a design for a layout whether you would be able to help me build and /or design it. This seems like a perfectly sensible use for several spare rooms to me but keeping the track clean must be like painting the Forth Bridge.

Does he get a team together to operate it all at once, chase the trains around the loft or does he just operate one station or section at a time- or all of the above?

I love model railways and I've made a be in the.atttic with my dad and uncle we've got loads of detail and it's a dcc but there ls only one problem, if you have too much you don't spend a lot of time using it and money just goes to waste but who cares model railways pown

The layout has 3 loops, so three trains 'can' be run simultaneously. However he has created a timetable and all the trains are moved to this schedule, usually 1 at a time. We will be working on getting an 'onboard' video over the holiday period, although the camera doesn't quite fit through all the tunnels :-) - so watch out in the new year for another vid.

I think that's pretty much the largest layout I've seen. A lot of dedication in that. I don't have the space for a layout but I've OO locos, stock, track and accessories going back to when I was three years old (some was second hand then I had a huge layout for Christmas which I'm sure Dad enjoyed! - I got to pay with it later) and later and I'm apraoching 50 now.

Thanks for the Message FatalMistake, While myself not being the enthusiast, It's My Dad who has the obsession, I can only let you know that he bases his era or time period pre1950's. I need to upload the new footage I took of his railway and with the trains moving as people have asked for. Hope that helps :-)

Steam is generally pre 1950s

If you choose diesel and electric I would choose 80s or Today since there is a lot from that time period and there is also a lot of steamers
