The devastating thing about slavery in America is that it was a particularily brutal form of chattel slavery, where there was little chance of obtaining freedom and where the children of slaves were the property of the slave master. Slavery among Africans was never permanent and the children of slaves were considered free. White indentured servitude was bad as well. Indentured servants were individuals who agreed to work without pay for another person for a set amount of time, often several years. Indentured servants by law were still free in that they had basic civil rights. Often times debt, or desire for passage to America, would provoke people to this kind of an agreement.

The devastating thing about slavery in America is that it was a particularily brutal form of chattel slavery, where there was little chance of obtaining freedom and where the children of slaves were the property of the slave master. Slavery among Africans was never permanent and the children of slaves were considered free. White indentured servitude was bad as well. I think the worst part of this is that racial animosity keeps struggling whites & blacks from working together for common interests

your interpretation of aristotle is incorrect, he dosent mention anything about slavery regarding race, nation, or religion but slave and freeman means that some are born to be leaders and some to be manipulated with, in this logic i as a boss in some company am master and my employees to be subject's or slaves, nothing to do with racism or trying to express superiority in relation to other nations.

Although I have no doubt there are differences in intelligence and races,I think it's smart if the smart people would not share this information pn a great scale, because it will make certain races feel interior and could lead to agression,a bad self esteem etc.What would be an idea at least not to'deny'it being true and think every "race"is gonna behave the same way or achieve the same thing. Indentured servants were individuals who agreed to work without pay for another person for a set amount of time, often several years. Indentured servants by law were still free in that they had basic civil rights. Often times debt, or desire for passage to America, would provoke people to this kind of an agreement.

The US economy requires slave labor but the ethnicity of the slaves varies over time. We are presently sourcing our slaves in indonesia, china and vietnam. We destroyed Vietnam to control its population by poisoning agriculture and rural communities with defoliants and high explosives. Now NIKE, & Wallmart control the lives of millions, the children starve and anyone caught trying to organize a labor union is found in a ditch with their head cut off. Free-market is code for slave-market.

The power balance of the entire continent got so screwed up that sides that previously traded weapons for minerals had to start selling their POW's and eventually their members.

We've had the photos,and descriptions of treatment of black slaves rammed down our throat for years. Where are the photos, and tales of white slaves in American history? The first slaves were white, and "indentured servants" were treated even worse. America needs a white version of roots, but it would be way to shocking. fact ... the average life span of "indentured" servants was 2 years.
fact .. it was economically driven, not race driven. black slaves were 4 times as expensive. indentured whites were cheap, and had an "expiration" date.

The first "load" arrived in America in 1619 onboard the "Duty" and were sold for tobacco .. but for easier math, we don't have to go back that far to disprove your "less than 100" years ..
In 1783, the Quock Walker case in Mass. ruled that slavery was contrary to the state constitution. The ruling was to apply to white, as well as black, slaves.

The fact that we concentrate on the glorification and sympathy of the 600k African slaves while hiding, denying and spreading misinformation to belittle the significance of the 300k European slaves, is shame on top of shame. But what our schools fail to outright tell us is that blacks slaves ALWAYS significantly outnumbered white indentured servants, and not to mention whites were usually treated much better on average{again, our school textbooks don't tell us that}.
