@DanSideBurns The guitar is plugged into the Digitech Brian May Red Special Pedal set to setting 4, then straight into Logic. I think I've compressed the recording, done some EQing and added a short reverb.
@ianrkav im not sure, but i know it is nowhere near as thick as the neck on brians actual guitar because he has huge hands and has to have a really thick neck to accommodate his hands.
@lean99zz He played at the premiere of We Will Rock You here in Sweden. Me and a few more people waited outside after the musical and I met Brian. And Roger as well :)
@szelidrocker Well, it all depends on what guitar, equipment and amp you have.. But a Wha is pretty much just a high pass filter. If you keep it in a fixed place all it does is pretty much change the tone, like an EQ. But I guess that, if you pull it back, it will give you less bass which in turn will give you a closer "Brian-sound" since he uses a treble booster and cuts off the low frequencies. Hope I understood your question correctly?
Sounds absolutely amazing. Love the tone and you nail Brian's licks and sound. You're a very good player. It looks like you have woman hands though :P
What strings are you using mate?
raffafa 2 days ago
@raffafa As a big Brian May-geek I use the Optima Gold Strings. They have a very clear tone and soft feel to them.
