I just recently became aware of Ollie. I got Everybody's sweetheart on dvd and love's prisioner. It is so sad that she died so young--that she could have done talkies with no trouble. I am currently reading the book by Michelle Vogel, about her life. Fantastic! I just wish that someone would cough up the bucks to re-release her movies. Why is it always about money? You did a great job on this video--a real tribute.
@dg142536 Thank you! It would probably be difficuly to restore the film if it has been damaged, and not many people are too interested in silent films and are aware of who she is, so there wouldn't be too much money coming in. It's a shame since that should not matter. There are a few of her movies floating around, though. I have "The Flapper" on DVD along with a bio documentary about it. If you haven't yet, you should check it out!
Dr. Carl Wickland, noted parapsychologist, reputedly made spirit contact with Olive Thomas in the 1920's. The transcript can be found in his book, "Thirty Years Among the Dead". I am not saying it is factual. This information is for those who may be interested and nothing more. Nice video. Amazing that Thomas is still revered by admirers nearly 90 years after her untimely death.
It's interesting to see tributes to people that are already gone for so many years. Like a little trip to past. This was a nice video and I enjoyed it even though I'm not very familiar with Olive Thomas. Anyway, since it's been almost 90 years since her death don't you think that music capturing spirit of her times would have been more appropriate?
So do I!! Who is it and what's it called? It made me cry!! The song also made me think of a very close friend who passed away several years ago. He would have loved it.
@styx53ocean I love a friend two years ago and this song reminds me of her too. It's called "I Still Cry" by Ilse Delange. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you!
this is beautiful <3 i had to look up her name in the internet cause i didnt know who she was tho. Random fact: i love your intro, i forgot to say that in your last video :p

A nice tribute. She really was so beautiful, her death was a tragedy. I would like to think she knew she was still remembered affectionately today.
