Mumford and sons made a great cover of this. I feel they are the beatles of this generation, which is respectable concidering most of the garbage we have today.
I just want to say, I've been going through the Beatles playlist for about an hour now, and how much I love all these comments from fellow Beatles fans is second only to my actual love for the Beatles. Thanks for making me feel less alone in my Beatle fandom. You guys rule. <3
@LaurenMKennedy you kind of were if you think about it. We live in a country where there is still racial bigotry, we are fighting seemingly meaningless and hopeless wars in which young men and women are dying, our government/president is shady, and we have a our own group of people who dress oddly and listen to unknown music (hipsters-hippies).
I'll never forget the Beatles, I wish I could shake hands and thank them for making me cry and laugh with my 43 years. Peace of Santa Cruz, I totally agree, I have gone in my 58 today also get emotional.
@wwwonderful@taylor77morris If you watch a lot of their documentaries and interviews, they state how they were all just naturally drifting apart. I suppose those factors could have contributed to the reason [though I wouldn't say they were main reasons], but then again many other things did too; their manager's death, George and Ringo often being left as the "back seat Beatles" wanting to emerge and be real song writers, collab difficulties, etc etc.
I'm right there with you, mate. I feel like I was born in the wrong time period... But maybe, with a little inspiration from The Beatles, someone from our generation will be able to carry on the spirit and soul of their music.
It's very hard to pick your favourite Beatles song. But I think Golden Slumbers is nearly my favourite, cause it makes me cry every time I listen to it.
My mother used to put me to bed and make me listen to this song. Now "golden slumbers fill her eyes" and I have to "carry that weight" for a lifetime. Rest in peace, mommy. I know that one day i'll get back homewards. επεξεργασία | κατάργηση

@onnie74 I'm sorry if I was unclear. All the songs I mentioned are written by Paul McCartney. Lennon was Leader in another sense, it had more to do with psyche.
@onnie74 John may have been the "leader" in some sense-but you don't make any sense. Songs like Hey Jude, Let it Be, Love Me Do (well, mostly), Eleanor Rigby, Get Back-to mention a few of his most known ones.. Personally I think songs like "For No-One", "She's Leaving Home" and "Fool on the hill" are terrific. John was often dubbed as the leader because he was the founder of the band, he perhaps had more prominent character than the others and it was also initially his dec. to "end" Beatles.
