i believe in 2.5, they already cap the casting speed. i dont know how much. but no matter how buff you are, you wouldnt cast faster than a certain speed.

The animations look faster then usually because of increased attack speed :) it can speed up the animation of the skill which can be very helpful for clerics because they can cast the next skill faster as they dont have to wait for the animation to finish.

too bad casting speed doesnt effect the CD of this spells, cuz then even with casting speed it would only make a difference until u use all ur first assault of spells. anything afterwards might still feel kinda slow due to same time for CD even with more cast speed

@Shadechidna Hate to burst your bubble, but percentage decreases will never actually hit 100%. IE Skill takes 10 seconds to cast, -50% from Boon = 5 Seconds...-50% from Word = 2.5 Seconds, 75% decrease total not 100%. 20% Orb just for kicks would be 80% total reduction with the spell casting at 2 Seconds. In this video before the Orbs and before the buff to boon the max he is getting is a 67.5% reduction.
@IsolationSyndrome You didn't burst my bubble at all. I only said it it because when I was sitting in SR and did it, I had no cast bar at all. even the animation was completely gone/overlapping. So to me, it seemed 100%.
@Shadechidna I deleted my response but apparently youtube hated that idea and would rather I look stupid. NCSoft in their infinite wisdom does calculate everything at base before other bonuses. In this case the buffs both take 50% off the base cast time and it does become 100%.

boon of quickness has not been nerfed after 1.5 its still 50% cast speed increase its much more likely that the vids maker mistyped bcs its more likely the chanter gives a 35% buff
it is correct...Video is from Aion 1.0, when boon of quickness was giving bonus only 35%. After update 1.1 it was raised to 50% bonus... TY for this message, I'll update description :-)

Cast speed does not affect animations. Cast speed affects the bar time. If you put attack speed on a caster, it reduces the animation time as well. That's why you see sorcs with attack speed gloves and scrolls.

Chanter Buff -50% cast speed, and boon of quickness -35%, any other question? of course he could use Wisdom -25%, so instant cast can be earned for 15 seconds.
Sigh.. people still debating if this is real or not? It is. I've played with a chanter on my 43 sorc, with Vaizel's wisdom active (25% reduced casting) the bonuses stack in this game. My 25% + chanter 50% reduce = 75%.
I'm not positive on this next part, but I *think* (I play Elyos, stigma is asmo) the Boon of Quickness skill was nerfed in 1.5 to be -35% instead of 50%, which is why the video says 85%.
Also the other players move normally, when BoQ is over his 2sec casts turn into 1s exactly.

Attack speeds become scary fast in this game, once you acquire the proper gears, use the right scrolls, get chanter DP buff, and certain aspd buff stigmas.
full 50% aspd increase assassin with 0.8 aspd can almost down a sorc in one skill chain.
That last part makes no sense, atk speed doesn't increase physical attack... So if an assassin could down a sorc in 1 skill chain.. It would be able to regardless of his atk speed.
But besides that.. I managed 1.0 atk speed on my templar with sword/shield
Still makes no sense. Marke was refering to attack speed has nothing to do with the sin's physical attack. Therefore even if he had 0.8 attack speed he would still take as many skill chains to down a sorc as someone with 1.0 attack speed. Only difference is that it would be faster, stuns would come faster and you would get more skills in, that's how attack speed sin's work it doesn't increase their dmg, they just do more attacks in shorter time.

hey i owe you an apology haha. now that i've played the game a little more i've come realize that casting speed actually does effect animations. i don't know for sure if it is quite that fast (still looks like everyone else like the glads are attacking faster than normal) but yes, casting speed does effect animations.
@Mogoram Fireballs arent moving that much faster. It does move faster but just subtly according to cooldowns so you can cast the next one. Its a game engine thing =.= Fail.

You don't know that. Some games let percentages stack additively, some let them stack multiplicitavely. It can go either way and you can't just disregard one offhand.
it's like heroism for shamans in wow that Chanters get, I think it's called Zest, but they might change the name of it. Happened to quite a few spells they translated from Korean to English during the NA/EU Beta.
there are multiple games where u can put the damage numbers to be either staying damn long or them dissapearing really fast, if not addons for em, no clue though if there are addons yet for aion
Probably a stigma skill or a combination of stigma skills that increase cast speed and reduce global cooldown. Similar to Acumen and Berserker Spirit buffs in Lineage 2.
Aion Doestn have a "normal" Global Cooldow...! the cooldown for you next attack ist the Animation from the attackst.. More Attackspeed Faster skill chains ya know?

its not 91% boost, u need to remove from the main speed, for example 4 seconds -50%= 2sec
2-25%= 1.5sec 1.5-16%= 1.26sec..
your way 4-91%= 0.36sec... and this is wrong

It's easy in a group to launch casting time bonus on boss. Every sorcerer at lv 50 knows it.

Cast speed does not affect animations. Cast speed affects the bar time. If you put attack speed on a caster, it reduces the animation time as well. That's why you see sorcs with attack speed gloves and scrolls.

You're not understanding why 0.8 aspd skill chaining is alot scarier than let's say 1.0 or even 0.9.
Between those aspd differences, the Sorc has a chance to run away or use a barrier and run away.
While an assassin coming in with cloack and attacking from behind with 0.8 aspd at full +50% attack speed, Sorcs rarely react fast enough to survive.
There's a big difference in why attack speed affects skill chain+ life and death of Robe classes against Assassins.

Srry, you failed. This video is speed up.
1st: other guys moves/cast faster to.
2ndt: Sorc's stigm is +50% cast, not 35.
3rd: Casting bonus doesn't stack like 50+50=100% reduction = All skills instant cast
Cast bonus it's stacked in multiples:
real cast * 1st bonus * 2nd bonus
Example for 2 sec cast: 2 sec * 0,5 (50%) * 0,5 = 0,5 sec Casting Time instead of Instant one.

Well , I saw it video again and looking his buffs I see Stigma one + Chanters one. Stigma gives 50% and chanters one another 50%.
So his cast spell is reduced by 75%, not 85.
My 2nd and 3rd arguments still being true.

Probably a stigma skill or a combination of stigma skills that increase cast speed and reduce global cooldown. Similar to Acumen and Berserker Spirit buffs in Lineage 2.

Aion Doestn have a "normal" Global Cooldow...! the cooldown for you next attack ist the Animation from the attackst.. More Attackspeed Faster skill chains ya know?
