Everybody knows the holocaust did happen and the ones that say it didnt happen are either German or are just too cowardly admit it because its too horrible to think about basically they are cowards

@ Indygoguy:You attempt to whitewash the average Germans guilt contradicts the historic truth. Every serious historic study which has been published in the last decades shows, that during 1933-1945 the support for the Nazi-Regime was very high. And as this is about the Holocaust the main question is, why so many ordinary Germans partcipated in the extinction of six million Jews.

(I agree on the negative role of the politics of Appeasement, but this off-topic here).

@transamericana You are talking about after he seized power. The German people are no different than any other people. Most people are followers. They see which direction the wind is blowing, they see who is in charge, they see what is rewarded and they go with it. Be sure, most of the knee jerk American liberals would become just as staunch knee jerk NAZI's if NAZI's seized control of America. @transamericana The Germans never overwhelmingly voted Hitler into Office. At most he received 40% of the vote. The other two big political figures in Germany were basically old glue horses, I think they were the Kaiser and Hindenburg. Just like many people voted for obama because they wanted "change", some of that 40% voted for hitler because the country was in a mess and the other two men were way past it and incompetent. The change they got was not what many thought they would get.

@transamericana Also, there is no such thing as "the average German's guilt". Once again, you are not god and you cannot judge them. You do not know if they were enthusiastic Nazis in their heart or if they were just people caught up in a scary system. Once again, watch Ellen Brandt's video, she gives a very insightful look at pre Hitler and prewar germany. She talks about how EVERYONE in Germany was in constant danger of being arrested and killed for saying the wrong thing.

@transamericana The number of Germans who were part of the killing machine was actually an extremely small percentage of the population. Most of those people were not in fact "ordinary" germans rather they were violent criminals who were released from prison and used by the Nazis. The Nazi system did not reward the "average" german with advancement, it only rewarded those who were much more ruthless and vicious than the "average" german. All countries have such people.

@transamericana The politics of appeasement is not off topic at all. You want to hate the Germans. What could the average German do? He saw Hitler violating the Versailles treaty time after time and he saw the response by Britain and France was....nothing. This made Hitler look unbeatable to his domestic foes, this made those that may have stood up against him keep quiet. At first MOST Germans either despised him or thought he was a joke . The actions of the Allies gave him credibility.

@Indygoguy I dont want to be dictator, but when i saw this video of what Germany, yes GERMANY did to innocent people like mr Bomba and his familj, i then cannot resist despising that country and its people. Bomba had a wife and a newborn child who was gassed in Treblinka, by the germans! If many germans also died during the war, the blame is on themselves because they elected Hitler. They voted on him!

@Hoshang2 i am german and i can tell you he's lying - these people were ordinary german soldiers from the ss or gestap and no criminals from somewhere - everybody in germany was knowing, what was going on - in "mein kampf" hitler wrote in the twenties - so already before he was elected - about killing all jews in munich on gallows... nobody can tell me they didn't know about what was going on in the kz's.

@transamericana The Allied powers are more responsible for Hitler than the average German was. It was their weakness and their policy of appeasement that really created him. If the French had invaded the Saarland when Hitler reoccupied it, if the Allies had invaded Germany when it started rearming in violation of the Versailles treaty, if they hadn't given Hitler parts of Czechoslovakia , then the powers in Germany that opposed Hitler would have moved against him.

The most his party ever got was 40% of the vote. This was not enough for him to get the power he wanted. He declared martial law and seized complete control. There were many people in Germany that were against him. The problem is that most people are easily led by whoever is in power.

It is this weakness of those such as Chamberlain that made Hitler what he became. When one allows evil to happen one is even more guilty than he who commits the evil. The Chamberlain types made excuse after excuse for HItler, the appeased him all the way to the second world war.

So: Why they didn't found those millions of human bones in the mass graves in Ausvitz ? Because the jews didn't let te world sourcing under the ground. Thank you so much for this testimon!I grew up in the german and french education system and I never saw an interview like this. Even if we went to camps like Oranienburg and Sachsenhausen next to Berlin with our teacher, nothing can replace a survivors vewpoint.
