Wow this is a life saver I love bela fleck, Ive been wanting to learn this for a long time. Ive been working on tunes like Bigfoot, Woolly Mammoth, Eager and Anxious,
Sunset Road, Sinister minister, and a few other weird ones. But personally this one is one of my favorites. Thank you. Good playing by the way :) check out my channel if you want to heat me play woolly mammoth or eager and anxious.
@barefootsoul83 It's a pretty common lick though. You're talking about the one out of the Am position at the 7th and 5th frets? Has a good sound though...thanks for stopping by.
I owe you a big thanks for this lesson. I'm a banjo beginner (although I've been playing bass forever). This song has been a goal for me. After spending more time with your video than I care to admit, I can actually play it! Thank you!
Wow. I have tried this song many times and I have figured it out pretty much the same way as you. I would really like to know how to do the solo part from Live at the Quick though, do you think you could post a video teaching that? That would be sweet! Thanks.
He plays the solo differently each concert...though I think you can get all his manuscripts from his website..including solos...best of luck anyway,im sure you will nail it..
You are a great musician.I've played mandolin, guitar and bass for years.I had a banjo ten years ago,and give it up.I now bought another ,and find it hard to keep my patience.Any tips?
Tips for patience...Play something that you will enjoy. Whether that's emulating another musician, or making stuff up yourself. Make sure what you learn will teach you technique...etc...but make sure you can have fun with it. I love playing Bela tunes, for example. And that gives me the "patience" when I'm spending hours figuring his stuff out and then learning to play it full speed.
