PS3 HDMI black screen problem

I have the same problem. But mine was caused by a power dip. When the electric came back on I can nolonger use hdmi. Tried it on 3 different tvs. Think I'm gonna bin it and go back to Xbox. :(

All you have to do is connect both your scart and hdmi to your ps3 and tv then click change input to hdmi. THEN it will give you 30 seconds to change INPUT ON YOUR TV TO HDMI THEN CLICK ACCEPT AND CLICK EASY WAY. Then you have to go to SOUND INPUT and change to HDMI. THEN ENJOY YOUR HD GAMING

i got the same problem man i took it to a friends house and it came on perfect when i put the hdmi but i do the samn shit at home and its a no show

all i did was unplud the hdmi cable from my hdmi output 1, then i held down the power button until it beeped twice. I then switched the 2 sides of the hdmi cable ( i took the end that was plugged into the t.v. and plugged it into the ps3, may sound weird but it worked) and then put it into hdmi 2, i then switched to hdmi on the t.v and after about 10 -15 seconds BOOM, HDMI at its finest!!!!!! hope it helps :)

i now how to fix it it happend to me i tok my ps3 on my Moms TV And it worked and when i tok it back on my TV its fixed :D

you need to switch to HDMI channel instead of (Av1/av2)

I dont know if someone might of said this already but those three cords that are red white and yellow that go to ur tv from ur ps3 u need to unplug those and instead of going to video on ur tv u go to hdmi on the tv! I had the samr problem till i did that!

I still have this same problem. Tried all the resetting advice but the problem is the hdmi device is detected it just doesn't seem to output to that input.

Completely stumped. Gonna have to send it back and see if a new one just works.

I actually play on one of those dinosaur box tv's a sony one and it works find for me but me and my xousin tried for his cus he plays with HDMI and he wanted to play on a normal tv but it isn't working

My ps3 works fine on 1080p I have a Sony Bravia and have no problems, what I did was, unplug the power cord before anything else than with the tv off unplug the color cables both sides than plug the hdmi cable plug back in the ps3 and done.

I use a Dell 1080p HDMI monitor on my ps3 and for 3 years I'v had zero problems.

I have a Sony Bravia. I have this problem where the red/white/yellow cable works on it but my HDMI wire just shows up black. I am not an idiot, i have tried every single thing and i have over 70 hours of gameplay on SKYRIM and i will not, absolutely not reset to factory settings. Back to the point: The colored wires work, the HDMI doesn't yes yes yes yes i have tried the damn 2 beep thing. Yes i removed the colored plugs from the TV before i did that Nothing works AT ALL just a black screen HELP

I have this. Works fine on my 1080p monitor but just a black screen on my 1080i TV! Really fucking annoying to say the least.

@samiam180 This does not work ill explain to you how to fix it.... hold power button a long time until it turns off then press switch int the back of the PS3 THEN SWITCH IT AGAIN and it will work!! SUBSCRIBE AND ADD ME AS FREIND/CONTRACT

@Samiam180 I had the same problem and it's to do with the resolution of HDMI being transmitted from PS3. TV can only handle 720p if I recall. Too small a screen anyway but what can you do.

what i did is turn my ps3 off then put the cable in then switch to scart then hold the ps3 button for about 6 seconds until i heard a second beep then i saw a message saying hdmi detected do you want to connect and i said yes then i switched to hdmi channel on my tv and there you go!

If you have the same problem than me (I think so), you can't fix it by software or any "trick", you only can repair the hardware. Here in Spain, you can repair the HDMI port by 90 euros. So, I finally have bought the components wire and it work PERFECTLY in 1080i resolution. Fixed problem by 10 euros (maybe a few years later the reapration would be cheaper)

I have the same problem "0xepicgamerx0". I recently bought a full hd F&H tv from ebuyer and can't get it working on the HD, which is really annoying! I have spoken to Technical Support at Ebuyer and they were unable to solve the problem so i think i might have to return the tv but still I don't know what else is best to do

hey i had same problem with my ps3 i took it apart and back side of hdmi was pushed in to far so i pushed it back out and on outside of ps3 inside of hdmi one pin was bent fixed it now all is good
