  • I read a lot of comments how they would never become like the "pathetic" main character. I only got one thing to say, NEETs and hikikomoris aren't that much different from us. We all got a darkness we sometimes aren't capable of handling. But we go through life dealing it through our own ways. I don't call that pathetic, I call that strength.

  • LOL u see the top comments? first one is all nice and sort of deep....2nd comment is all fucked up and doing crack cocaine

  • ITS ALL CONSPIRACY

  • 2.48 Damn! Why it never happened to me!

  • You know, the scene at 5:51 is a great visual representation of the whole "Anime is my anti-drug" joke, with Satou's merchandise next to her medication. I'm guessing this was done on purpose.

  • is this show implying that anime is a conspiracy to keep us sedated?? because like any mass media, it's very very true. this guy being sucked in is already proving that.

  • well im not a TRUELLY a hikikomori but i still need to go outside for school..

if not..my parent will KILL ME!!...

but i TOTALLY WANNA BE A HIKIKOMORI

  • @gunmantol I WUN B HIKIKOMORI BECOURSE IT IS KWL LIEK.

    Idiot.

  • @gunmantol I NEVER want to be a Neet, and I will never EVER become a disgrace like this guy in the anime.

  • @naevan1 Then lets hope that the economy and population size is kept in ideal conditions so that you never find yourself unemployed after college. Wouldn't want to see you knocked off your pedestal, would we?

  • @bONz08r0nzan I have already thought of that. I live in a country in which the crisis has banged the door and is already inside, and yeah since last year Im studying like hell :P But yeah I dont want myself to become a neet, and esspecially a galge neet :p I love this anime because it reflects many truths of the world but yeah he's not my ideal idol :P ( Btw through this anime I learned of Freud,so it was worth it :P )

  • @naevan1 To be quite honest the only thing that would prevent me from becoming a neet is the guilt. I'm guessing I'm not as motivated as you. Studying? Hah! I strive to pass my classes with as little effort as possible. Not studying like hell, procrastinating like hell. When I enter the work force I'll probably try to get night shifts. Less time spent having to deal with people.

  • @naevan1 I don't think the point of the character of Satou was that we were supposed to idealize him. He's rarely shown being happy and only occasionally shown being content. They gave him so many negative traits so that even the most depraved and anti-social of viewers could relate to him. People who don't act anything like him can pity him and feel superior (this seems to be the stance you've taken). People in the middle can think "Well, I'm kinda like him, but at least I'm not THAT bad!".

  • @bONz08r0nzan No,I was kinda like him 2 years ago or so ^^ Except for the fact that I didnt smoke.

  • @naevan1 Yeah, it seems weird that he smokes to me. It just doesn't seem like he's the type of person who would do that. I think he just has a very addictive personality. He seems to go a little crazy whenever he finds something he likes. Like how he went overboard with saving those pictures online or when he bought all that otaku stuff when shopping with Yamazaki. He might do that to get it out of his system. You can't really do that with a substance that permanently affects your brain, though.

  • the intro song is driving me nuts

  • im a hikikomori :)

  • Why are here so many hikkikomories in youtube?

every 3rd message is : "He i like me" "I am like him" "Bla..."

    xDD

  • @qpwerosfhaiu me too, one more in the club

  • me 3,000,0001

  • I swear he lit up and then about 10 seconds later put it out

  • 'It's true. I heard rumor about it the other day."

Right, because rumors are ALWAYS true. XD

  • dam wonder wat happened between them

  • ............

  • how dare you ruin his life like that. BASTARD!!!!

  • I don't think I can ever get tired of watching the craziness of the opening.

True everyone who suffers, suffers in their own way and each story is different. Anyone who says that they never suffered are the ones that are truly messed up.

  • Why? Are you jealous of them? I also have social phobia, but I´m happy for people who have some problems but are not really suffering. You shouldn´t suffer in life.

  • Of course I'm not jealous of them, I have nothing against people who are lucky enough not to go through things like this.

Suffering is a normal way of life, sometimes suffering can lead to bad things but it can also help you move on past your old self.

  • But you say people who say that they never suffered are messed up. Is it not a bit harsh?

  • what I meant by that is that people who haven't suffered are abnormal you know? everyone seems to have gone through some period of suffering in their life, finding someone who hasn't is just weird.

  • ...

don´t we have to suffer because of the illusion of being abnormal? don´t you think so?

  • there is also the illusion of being 'normal' as well so I wouldn't single being 'abnormal' out. thinking about being 'abnormal' or 'normal' is an opinion from either one's self or someone else. then again the illusion of being 'normal' can also make some suffer.

why? well some of us want to stick out and we have no clue how we can do it when being yourself is the simple answer. so in a sense, no we don't only suffer from the illusion of being abnormal we also have the opposite affecting us.

  • It´s better when we find ourselves, than it doesn´t matter what is normal or abnormal.

  • As to the reason why we suffer. We suffer to find who we are, it's a test to find who we want to be and what mark we want to leave behind. If we pass we've walked a big mile in our life.

  • I want to try it with meditaition and buddhism, everytime I read it I could cry of my happiness.

  • People change after going through a period of life where they spend many years alone. When you reintegrate with society, I think you are a better and wiser person because of it.

  • i'm an ocd ridden hermit,i can relate a bit to this guy....except girls like him!

  • What I love about Anime is people are very connected and apprehensive toward each others sufferings. In real life you suffer alone, and no body really understands. Satou and I are identical in a lot of ways, but he's got one thing on me... he has two wonderful girls in his life who are able to connect with him. I guess I'm saying I wish I had people like that in my life. None of my friends are deep enough to understand me.

  • deep in wat ....hahaha

  • You can sit there and wish all you want, but that won't change your disposition. Once you go out and meet people, you'll eventually meet people you connect to and share a deep bond with. Let's just say that Satou-kun was lucky enough to meet people that connect with him early on.

  • same.

  • @SatouHikikomori its called japan..

  • @SatouHikikomori i no just how you feal but i will never become a hikikomori i love nature and dont worrk you will find that someone that is on your level in due time

  • @SatouHikikomori thats deep hope you finds someone who really understands you

  • @SatouHikikomori what matters is that you understand yourself then you will not need anything from anyone. self pitty is not good if you want to evolve. just change your beleifs about yourself and youll change your life.

  • @SatouHikikomori I agree. I need a job to pay for my anime- but i dont want to go outside- as well, my friends don't understand the basics of anime or that fact that they are a disgrace to the people that work hard to keep this industry alive >.> not understanding the love behind a little sister and her brother becoming more than siblings! its difficult...

  • @SatouHikikomori I think that whether you have friends or not to support/connect with you, you would need your own strength to be able to bear or fight the darkness.

  • @SatouHikikomori I can assure you, there is definitely someone who can understand, you just don't see that person yet. They could be there the whole time, waiting... But you refuse them.

  • This is meth. A fucket up, perverted, yet amazing type of meth.

    Anime is a helluvadrug
