  • Amanda, thank you for sharing. You have a strong heart and an incredible story to use as leverage against anit-gun dummies.

  • Everyone needs to get the word out everyday.. To help out,In till the law is done the right way. She is a very brave lady.Angle of god to come out to show people what happen to her. All I can say to the people out their,That think guns are bad.Put her shoes on. Guns are only bad in a evil hand.. God bless you Amanda,

  • Help us defend self-defense/firearm rights in New Hampshire on public university property!

WW W dot FREEKEENE dot C OM

  • Im so sick of hearing this stuff. Why can we not protect ourselves everywhere we go??? If you are not going to allow us to protect ourselves in certain areas then you damn well better have someone there to do it for us that can be everywhere!!! This is ridiculous and should have never happened as this young lady was ready to protect herself but you took that away from her therefor doing more harm then good. SHAME ON YOU!!!! Stay strong ladies and gents we will one day get our rights back!!!

  • She is so brave and well spoken. Thanks for doing this!

  • If there is another Brianna Denison-type case on campus where the victim could have defended herself, but legally could not, then I say that the blood is on the hands of William Horne.

The 2nd Amendment does not grant us the right to keep and bear arms. Rather, it is a guarantee that the right we already possess shall not be infringed. And yet it has been infringed by Horne and countless other anti-gunners. Let’s keep working to get them out of power where they can do no more harm

  • Amanda has been assaulted three times.

Once, by the monster who attacked her.

Again, by the system that she had to fight in order to carry a gun for self-defense.

And yet again, by William Horne (Democrat, Las Vegas) a politician who stopped the Campus Carry bill from leaving his committee.

  • Previous comment, no jurisdiction has the right to change a right to a privilege. The Constitution outlines our rights, it does not though list all rights. The government, is by the people, for the people and of the people. You are the government. You have the authority to exercise your rights. If the government encroaches on those right, it is your DUTY as a sovereign individual to push back and make them prove you are wrong. That is the purpose of the jury, we are in this together folks.

  • As far as the discussion on the permitting process. I have this to say about that, everyone that is registered to vote, you are the ones called to jury duty. I for one would NEVER EVER find someone guilty of exercising their 2nd Amendment right.

Let me state the pertinent line in the Constitution, SHALL NOT INFRINGE!

No State or jurisdiction has the right to abrogate your rights. Rights are NOT given by the government, they are inherent. No jurisdiction to change a right to a privilege!

  • The one thumbs down is a rapist that does not want people to have the ability to protect themselves. Frelling morons.

  • If they are too young to carry , they are too young to vote !

  • The only problem with gunfree zones is criminals don't read the sign...

Glad to hear you survived your ordeal Amanda. God Bless you for coming forward and telling your story. You are a very courageous woman for doing so. I hate to make this political, but the only way to be certain of maintaining your 2nd Amendment rights is to vote for Ron Paul in 2012. He is the only one who will work to eliminate all the idiotic laws we currently have on the books.

  • So whats your reason for not letting her protect herself Brady Campaign, Obama, Nancy Pelosi and so on? I am so grateful you survived your encounter to live your life and share your story. God bless you.

  • The sad fact is that there is no such thing as a 'Gun Free Zone' - particularly on campus. At most you get a 'Free Fire Zone' (or a 'Free Rape Zone') where the criminals know that their victims are very unlikely to be armed and able to defend themselves.

  • Amanda,

Thank you SO very much, for having the courage to stand up on this issue, and share your story. My wife and I are very proud of you and your family, and we wish you all the best in continuing the good fight for your rights, bestowed by God, and then regulated away by well-meaning, but misguided and uninformed legislators and administrators. Thank you, again, and God Bless you and your family for your efforts!

    Every Good Wish,

    Doc and CJ

  • I'm shocked! The criminal didn't obey the law? Doesn't he know laws are in place to protect us? I'm flabbergasted.

Is there anything else we can do to insure rapists and murderers have a safe work environment?

  • Amanda,

Texas had no CCW law at all when Suzanna Hupp was at a restaurant with her parents and watched a madman gun them down. Her gun was in her truck for the same reason you were unarmed. She became a leader and was instrumental in getting a CCW law passed in Texas. We still don't have campus carry, but we're working on it. I wish you every success in your campaign and hope that Susanna Hupp's story will give you some added confidence.

  • This is so sad :( It's even worse here in my country, Brazil, where we have absolutely nothing like the 2nd amendment and it's practically impossible to even own a firearm.

  • Sorry Amanda Collins, but your PERMIT is not your RIGHT to carry. Paying money to the government for permission to exercise a right is not exercising a right. It is a privilege.

  • @Schlitz I'm sure you already know this, but in Nevada your right to carry is not for concealed carry. Your right to carry is strictly of open carry. Concealed carry is a privilege.

As far as paying money to the government, the process that I assume you are referring too, is for a service to process your application, collect fingerprints, run a background check, take your picture and create and mail your CCW.

  • @mude34567 I'm well aware of the NRA's attempt to convince the American public that getting a CCW PERMIT is the equivalent to having the RIGHT to bear arms. I think the "service" you have to pay is bullshit. This means the hard working American who is just making ends meet cannot protect his family because he can't afford a permit that usually requires some expensive class. Nevada may have open carry, but if your in places like Texas, Florida, etc you can kiss the constitution good bye.

  • @Schlitz I somewhat agree, however, even if you cant afford a class yet can afford a gun, you can still carry it in your vehicle and your home im some states like Texas.

  • Without the right to carry, she had very little chance to protect herself. Her efforts will help others in the future. Good on you, Amanda.

  • Rosie Odonnel says only the police should have guns and armed body guards for the rich.

  • Amanda's a hero. Overcoming a tragic event is already difficult enough, but she turned the tragedy into a momentum to helping prevent herself and other's from getting harmed in the future, that's heroic to me.

  • Amanda Collins is a patriot. Well done, Amanda.

  • Thank you Amanda for having the courage and strength to speak out!

  • awesome for you amanda.

  • I have a CCW permit and if I decide to return to school in the future, I will exercise my 2nd Amendment and state law rights, regardless of any signs on campus, as I will likely be attending night school and I will not be a victim. The school will only be aware of my weapon if the need to defend myself or others occurs.

  • @weweedmaniii If I was a cop, or a school staff member, and I found out about this, I'd be behind you 100% carrying concealed as well. You shouldn't even need a CCW license to exercise your right. I don't recall asking for a free speech license, or a license to be taxed by the IRS (although I'd ask for the IRS tax license to be revoked :P)

  • What is worse to carry: The memories of being raped, or the memories of killing the man who tried to rape you? I'm a man so it's pretty unlikely I'll be raped. But I would personally rather carry the weight of killing a predator over the trauma of my girlfriend or sister being raped.

  • @sociopathpsych I agree with you 100% These gun control laws are unconstitutional and should be ignored, and removed from the books. It's a human right to self defense.

  • I believe that evry citizen should have the right to protect themselves.

  • If everyone practiced thier constitutional rights and carried what would they do? All gun laws are illiagal and unconsitutional!

  • The educators need to be educated on the use of firearms.

  • exercise your rights then let the state oppress or deprave then violate their oath together with your rights in order to enforce them!

  • Maybe colleges can put up "rape free zone" signs next to the "gun free zone" signs to better protect students.

    (Just kidding).

Amanda Collins is a hero for going public and fighting the good fight.

  • @GunOwnerDan

    thumbs up times athousand
