I have the same exact gun in my case the firing pins are horrible they chip like egg shells if you put in one from a similar H&R model, but works great as getting em in close and scaring an shooting the shit out of them at the same time
Ha, had the same model in High School. Sat. Nite Special if ever was. I didn't know what a .22 short was. Took a pair of pliers and cut the tips off some .22 lr and fired it that way. All was well till the cylinder split and showered my buddy with frags. Great stuff.
@AVeryNiceEverything that is what I was thinking. I have one I purchased from a co-worker back in the mid 80's ; and he brought it home from West Germany in the late 50's when he served in the Army. Mine came with the felt lined "shaving case" it was originally sold in
I got a Jennings .22 for less. A friend wanted $10 for it to get a gram. I didn't have the ten so I gave him $7 and a joint. He bought another joint and had enough to get a 40 oz. That gun never shot straight and would sometimes keep firing until the clip was empty even after I took my finger off the trigger.
@FearTheGremlin I agree. I get a lot pleasure out of my 30+ firearms than I did with drinking and smoking years ago. There's a time and place to do all that reckless and careless stuff. It was called college. ;-p
Looks like a Rohm. I have a few in storage. Your spring is worn out. It is not worth fixing, but if you really want too, replace the hammer spring and it should shot better. You can also use it in single action and it should work fine that way too. It is a cheap junky revolver made of cheap materials and a very weak round, but it does work. If you are wondering how the casings come out, you unscrew that rod under the barrel and pock them out at the loading gate.
Cheapest gun in the world was called the 'liberator' civilian pistol, it was almost $2, however it is now about 2000 dollars, due to its collectability.
Shoot it once and then melt it down into a paper weight. What a dangerous piece of crap. Your Aggie buddy was right, I would have shot it standing behind a tree with a kevlar glove on.
that not the cheapest gun ever, I got a mosin with no front sight and a chipped stock for $5, best thing was with some wood putty and good aim the gun shoots fine!
Whoa, dude! We recently got a .22 LR revolver for free along with a Jennings when buying some stuff (the guy inherited stuff and needed it gone quick.) and it looks just like that... It also only went off 1 in a few times. We took it apart and doing so made it break so that we couldn't re-assemble it. Even worse, sometimes the single action would screw up so that it wouldn't go off as you squeezed the trigger, then you let go of it, then it becomes a super sensitive trigger for one shot.
@AlfonsoTheGod this is pretty well the same model/size of gun that disabled james brady and failed to kill ronald reagan in 1981, cheap piece of shit lmao
Damn, that's very easy to fix.My Dad is a gunsmith and he is in his late 80's and he can't count the number of revolvers that had the same problem and he had them shooting like new in less than a hour."HINT" for this guy [unload and advance the cylinder one at a time letting the hammer strike and note the distance the firing pin on the empty chambers]-the rest of it is simple,if you got half a brain.
@neonatonaten Well...if a bullet can ricochet off a glass bottle without damaging it, you shouldn't be worrying about any damage from the resulting bounce, right?
Looks like my $20 Rohn(RG.....Revolving Grenade) 22 short.Pawn shop wanted it gone it was such a POS....Fires the same way.Might go pop might not in double action.Single action it works.
@95ryanman No, I am merely pissed off that you copied someone else's original comment and used it as your own just to get likes that you don't deserve....you must be a 7th generation troll
@GeniusIncome You know what?, you're rude, irritating, big-headed and clearly jealous. I'm just going to do the civilised thing and block you. Good day.
"Mr. Saturday Night Special, with a barrel black as coal..." In the belongings of a deceased trapper an RG10s (with 6"barrel) was found. The elderly gentleman purchased it in the mid '60's and used it until before his death around 5yrs ago. He welded a small metal block to hammer to address misfires, I assume, since lots of these guns I've seen have a dimple in the soft steel hammer where the firing pin hits. Very loud for .22short! German made, they stopped US sales after lawsuit. Enjoy!
@cleoshepardchou Is that right?..I have this german made .22 for home defense I bought it used from a friend for $50...seems OK...but maybe I should get something better...soo this gun is crappy then????? thanks...any info on this gun is great!
it is a rhom RG10, i had one a while back. there is a screw on the bottem of the grip, you can loosen/tighten it and it should make you 1 pull 1 shot, just watch out it was a saturday night special gun back in the 1960-1980's really low quality but fun to have
I'd say you got your $25.00 worth... why pay $100 to watch a comedian when you can shoot this POS instead? (They say booze and guns don't mix, but me and my buddies would have a big old time shooting this pistol drunk!)
Years ago, like 50 years ago, my brother-inlaw had one of these and used the barrel for a jack handle when he had a flat, broke the barrel off...lol...threw the worthless piece of *7!@ in the ditch.
i used to have a gun like that it was like $25 it was a rg 22 revolver it was a peice of shit. i ended up tossing it in the river worst $25 dollars i ever spent.
I had one the same brand same problem my uncles gun when he passed away inherited the piece,it might fire 2 shots consecutively and it wasn't the hammer spring it has a firing pin and because it was made of some crap metal it brads out and won't trigger the bullet because it hits so far on the edge it just won't ignite.

@Blahblobify Most of the reason i am attached to my rg14 and the pistol he has here and shoots 22 longs but i refinished them for my grandfather before he passed. I mean they work, shoot em like every other year or so usually on the date he passed
@Blahblobify you would think a gun made in Germany would be top notch quality, because some of most best quality built guns are made there. I bet they were paid minimum wage to make those guns
It's a .22 short. It will not blow up, there isn't enough power in that little cartridge to blow anything up. The worst that will happen on a firearm like this is that it won't go bang. There really isn't anything unsafe about this. If it was a high powered cartridge maybe, but with this thing you're totally safe.
it is a cap gun

@Blahblobify you would think a gun made in Germany would be top notch quality, because some of most best quality built guns are made there. I bet they were paid minimum wage to make those guns

It's a .22 short. It will not blow up, there isn't enough power in that little cartridge to blow anything up. The worst that will happen on a firearm like this is that it won't go bang. There really isn't anything unsafe about this. If it was a high powered cartridge maybe, but with this thing you're totally safe.
