This is my favorite PF tune.Lots of people hack cover tunes like Tuesday night Karaoke or they are recorded like the engineer was deaf at birth.Cock Robin, excellent work on Guitar and vocals. That band should get equal credit due to the fact that it was almost identical to the Frampton comes alive performance. The mixing/engineering was exceptional in reeling in a live performance with all instruments well represented sonically,if I recorded this,I'd put this on my resume.Great post, thank you.
I wonder if anyone else who listens to this truly misses the era of music that not only accepted but also nurtured this type of song. I seriously miss the craftsmanship this song embodies.
While I generally don't like 'covers', the care and respect he took to do this song really come through. The original version (he seems to be emulating the Frampton Comes Alive version), is quite amazing and Peter Frampton's guitar work is beyond comparison. I do like this cover quite a bit and am glad to have found it.
Do, I spent my night club years following this great Buffalo band through the late 70's, 80's. They did every cover as good as this. What made them special is they did alot of B-side stuff. But they also had great originals. Check out "Cock Robin It's Alright" featuring Billy Shaver their original Singer who died tragically awhile back. Also check the "History of Cock Robin" part 1 and 2 for a good bio. Peace
Is that Dave or Denny?
