As a solution, nirecommend ng WHO at UNICEF ang AD syringe. Once ka lang pwede mag-aspirate w/ the AD syringe (once u fill the syringe w/ the vaccine). If you observed during the door to door Measles-Rubella vaccination last April, SQ injection un at hindi nagaaspirate kasi AD syringe din ang gamit. Yun ang supply na binigay ng DOH.
@MrCrexalis injections used for immunization now a days are auto-lock . so, when the syrings is inserted, we will know if we hit a vein because blood will come out directly, if there is no blood upon insertion, then inject the medications without aspirating na.
@MsAppler excuse me but its a place where auto-lock syringes werw not available...dude this ain't America...i was a student that day twas the picture i shot.. Look my friend i was just trying to share my experiences as youtube does best...ok so if somebody doesnt like it at all..Sorry...by the way we don't do that kind of practice without the permission of the lady holding the baby..and the mother was outside so we are allowed to watch, document and learn eventually...sorry for the late replies.
Yan na nirecommend ng UNICEF, WHO and DOH. Miss Appler is right. :)
@MrCrexalis -- With all due respect to your clinical expertise, the person who injected the vaccine was using an Auto Disable syringe (AD SYRINGE), as recommended by WHO-UNICEF-DOH. There's no way she could pull back the plunger once she inserted the needle into the baby's thigh. "PUSH" is the only action she can do w/ that plunger at that time... there's no way to aspirate or pull it back.
Godbless...
